Ika snorts again. "Like she had much of a choice. I'd bet you she still thinks of me as inferior, though."

Ika tips her head to the side. "Journey?"

"I think you already are, or you wouldn't be talking to me, would you?" Ika says.

Avalon's eyes widen. "No..."

Avalon ran onto the ship, seeing Hagan on the ground and Derik on his knees. "What's going on? What happened?" she asks. Then she sees Ika and gasps. "A dragon!" (remind me again, is the villagers' relationship with dragons such that she would draw a weapon or just be cautious?)

Ika snorts. "I know what most humans think of dragons. Vicious, mindless beasts." Her tail swishes from side to side. "Of course there are some who don't think that way, but they are certainly the minority."

"No one deserves to be mistreated like that for something they cannot help. I couldn't just let that continue, once I knew about it," Ika says. "Dragons are honorable creatures, whatever many humans may think of us."

Ika noses at the dead chief sadly. "I'm sorry for your loss," she says. "He seems like he was respected, honorable."

Avalon runs toward the docked ship, worried about what happened to the other ships.
