I think they are probably native to the Hidden World.

My biggest issue is the idea that Toothless is the last of his kind...……. That really ruins the movie for me since the Night Fury is my favorite Dragon species...…….

Though in RTTE there are some signs that perhaps there are other Night Furies out there.

Despite what Dean DuBois says is it possible that there could be other Night Furies in the Hidden World. Although he only says that Toothless is the last of his kind. Not where he is the last of his kind^)

A view of Valka's 20 years away from Berk might be interesting.

I personally don't believe that Toothless is the last of his species no matter what Dubois says. Especially since it would mean that there is no hope at all for Toothless's species.

I personally do not believe that Toothless is the last of his species. I also don't think the dragons will comeback in the movie.
