Hi, I want to introduce you to my replica of Hiccup's sketchbook. Many of you probably know it already.

Left side: the original from the movie; Right side: my replica

Here are some images from the creating process:

Here is a virtual version! You can read in it as if you were holding the real book in your very own hands!

Wow. That's amazing!

How long did it take for you to make?

Oh wow, that's really impressive!
I've been thinking lately about making something similar, but with the book of dragons.

-edit-
Just flicked through the virtual copy too and oh gosh it's so lovely!
I especially love all the little sketches of mechanics :P

For the leather cover not long.. 2 days.. or 3.. the sketches take much more time. Some are quick sketches, some very detailed drawings - 30 minutes to up to 6 hours.

For the "book simulator" (link) I've also invested a lot of time. Scanning, programming scripts and layouts. A few days..

Thank you all! :)

Yes, it was.. and it is hard, if you're developing a kind of homesickness with all that drawings, what happened to me in fact.

What did you use to draw with?

A big graphite pen with a bold lead. Used with a lot of pressure for the carbon look.. ;)
