I've seen that there are many other people here who are into 3D animation and some of them have probably awesome Dragon-Artworks to share!

Here is my 3D model of Hiccups Fire-Sword. I made it before the final trailer was released, now I know that the blade looks a bit different.
I also have to make some changes on the fire. It is to thick and there is to much smoke.

Here you can see a short video of a test render. It needed around 5 hourse to simulte the fire particles and around 3 to render. The fire needed more than 20 GB of disk space for cache...for 100 frames. :D

I made everything in Cinema 4D with the TurbulenceFD Plug-In.

It would also nice if you could say some technical fats about your artworks.

rendering takes forever! it was the bane of my existence last semester i remember many sleepless nights getting up on the hour every hour to check and make sure my project was still rendering. for metal textures i love mental ray in maya, you get really nice reflective materials and lighting!!
also the sword is awesome , really nice particle effects with the flame!!

Yeah, the half of the time you just sitting there and waiting for the rendering.

Creating metal textures is something I'm not really good at. It looks always like plastic. Maybe I should try it with a physical rendering, too.

The fire sword is cool.. I've to make this thing in real in the future.. oh dear..

I've played with Blender for a while. The result: Toothless Flight (1.0)

Unfortunately I lack the time to continue to deal with it.

That's pretty good! Although I will say, when Toothless is in a climb like at the end he doesn't flap his wings, it's more like a butterfly stroke.

I loved how the sword's got the name Inferno, and of course, it lights on fire (perhaps by using Nightmare saliva??)
Almost reminds me of "Lightbringer".

The sword is great! I hope there will be more of your 3D Arts / Animations

Well, I don't really have much to offer. Most of my projects are just experiments and my modeling/texturing skills are pretty poor, so I'm just throwing together game assets:
