My father screamed. I ran towards the dragon that was about to leap at my father. "DRAGO! NO! LEAVE HIM ALONE! HE WON'T HURT YOU!' I stopped. "Him? Who is "him"? The dragon?' "Yes, but-' I snarled with fury, and moved towards the dragon. "No! Drago! It's not what you think... Please, no... You'll only get yourself killed, and make him angrier!' "Father, you seem to forget: I have a way with them...' "Yes, Drago, I know, but-' my father hesitated. '-you don't know what he's capable of...' "You don't know what I'm capable of, either, Father...' "Drago, no! Please, I'm telling you- Look, I know that if you control that dragon, you'll use him for evil...' "You're right. I will.' "Drago! No! Don't do this!' "I'm not going to do anything. But they will...' "Kill him." "DRAGO! NO! N-' my father's cry cut off. "Well, done, dragon. Now there is nothing stopping me from becoming the Chief. Update: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "NO! I AM YOUR MASTER NOW! YOU WILL OBEY ME!' I screamed. The beast seemed intent on flying where it wanted. I pulled on its horns, hit it, screamed at it, but it did not listen. If only there was a dragon that could make it listen... Suddenly, I saw a huge mountain looming out of the mist. I had heard of this mountain. My father had told me about it, before I- No. I did not kill him. The dragons did. It would have happened anyway... Other dragons started to surround me in a huge swarm. "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!' I roared. Then I realised. "YES, THE MIGHTY DRAGO HAS TAMED ONE OF YOU!' I decided to follow them. "Follow them, dragon...' The beast did not need to be commanded. Perhaps, it was finally learning, to do what I said. Or maybe...it was something else that was making it follow the others... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Update: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The beast dived, and we arrived inside the mountain. Thousands of the dragons were dropping food into a huge hole, shrouded in red mist. "This must be where they live...' I thought aloud. "My Queen, I have returned...' the beast said in Dragonese. "Good. Why have you been away for so long?! You had better have been getting food for me, or...' the voice trailed off. The beast whimpered. It appeared that it was afraid of whatever was inside the hole. More afraid of it, than me, I realised in anger. The thing seemed to have spotted me. "There is a human on your back...Is it the reason you have been away...?' "Erm...Well, yes...He kind of captured me...' The thing roared in fury. "You?! A mighty Monstrous Nightmare, forced to bow down to a human as your master! I do not wish to have dragons with any master other than me in the Nest! Traitor!' The beast stuttered in protest. "SILENCE! TRAITORS IN MY NEST SHALL BE REWARDED AS THEY DESERVE!!!' the thing roared. "WHATEVER YOU ARE, KNOW THIS: I AM THE BEAST'S MASTER NOW!' I screamed at the thing. "You know, human... You remind me of that young Bewilderbeast I drove out, for daring to challenge my authority... Coward... He ran away...' "Where to...?' "How dare you ask me these questions, human... I will not tell you where he went... It may challenge me again..." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
