My fanfic. THIS IS A DARE. Long story short, my friend dared me to post one of my HTTYD fanfics on this.
Sorry about that. You didn't have to read it.
- Astrid
Astrid Hofferson, a bright young girl with big dreams. She's the odd one out, always having her head in a dragon manual or training with her axe. Her friends, or more so, the people around her age, are real viking children, and she is told to be like them more. There is Snotlout Jorgensen, an annoying boy who always shows off, Fishlegs Ingerman, a dragon nerd, Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thorston, two daredevil twins, and then there was Hiccup Horrendous the Third. Astrid is infatuated with him. His reputation to rebel against the adults, his leadership and his popularity. Astrid's parents tell her to be more like Hiccup, to have some leadership skills, but Astrid doesn't think she can pull it off. How can you be like that? How can you lead such childish games? But Hiccup pays Astrid no heed, in fact, he ignores her tears and sobs when the others bully her. At least he doesn't do it.
Astrid just can't do anything Hiccup does. She can't lead dragon hunting games, or play hide and seek. She just can't do it. So she can only train more. Drown herself in dragon killing. Always trying forget to her surroundings, she decides to lock the loneliness, the sadness, the longing, the feelings for everyone, especially Hiccup, away at the back of her heart. Then again, you can't forget the past, and that is exactly what Astrid tried to do. But she should know that history has strange ways of repeating itself.
