I'M FINALLY BACK, WOOOAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
It's the Christmas holidays, which means NO SCHOOL and NO WRITER'S BLOCK! (well, partly)
Here it is (finally): chapter 11!
Spoiler: click to toggle I woke up what seemed like an eternity later. To my surprise, I wasn't in Valhalla, and I wasn't even at the bottom of the ocean or washed up on a beach.
I was in a bed.
Slowly, my aching arms lifted me upright so that I was sitting. I was, indeed, in a small bed and as I looked around me, I noticed that I was in a simple modest room with not much furniture in it. A table and a couple of chairs were gathered in the corner, but apart from those and the bed, that was it.
I reached down warily to get Inferno out of its place on my leg, but I saw that it wasn't there any more, and for some reason there were bite marks in my still damp leather armour.
“Where am I?” I asked out loud to myself.
“Nice to see you're awake.”
I turned around to look at the door, startled by this sudden voice. Leaning against the doorway was a large, tall, hefty man wearing a metal helmet with large twisted horns on it. He was dressed in raggedy metal armour and had an axe strapped to his back. Something about him was familiar, but the daylight behind him silhouetted him a little and I couldn't quite tell who he was.
“It's been a while, Hiccup.”
I smiled a little. The way he said my name was too familiar not to recognise.
The large man stepped out of the doorway, meaning he was no longer silhouetted and I could see his face properly. He was smiling.
“Hello, Alvin.”
Meanwhile, the rest of the Berkians weren't being treated as well as Hiccup. They were all shackled, except for Astrid who's arms were chained around Little Stoick, and some distance away the dragons were all muzzled and their wings were chained above their heads. All the Hooligans had been waiting on Toothless to use his Alpha power and escape, but in the belief that his rider was dead, he had no willpower to do so.
The now more than doubled in size army was trudging their way across the slowly melting ice towards land, and it wasn't going to be long until the sun began to set. Everyone including Drago's soldiers feared that they would have to continue after nightfall.
The one extremely small plus side of being captured by Drago was that the riders were able to reunite with Eret again. After his attempt to pass a message to Hiccup, he had been severely whipped and locked inside a cage, with a couple of Drago's original soldiers dragging him along.
Ruffnut was heartbroken when she saw him that way. She had tried to talk to him but he had always turned away or given short responses, as he didn't want to get her or the others in trouble as well for talking.
Little Stoick hadn't stopped crying since their capture. He was pale and shivering despite the furs he was wrapped in, and Astrid was holding him as close as she could to try and warm him up. Drago had, out of mercy, given her an old bit of bread to keep him alive, but it was so stiff that she had to chew it for him.
“At least he's had something,” she said to herself.
Valka hadn't stopped staring at the ground. First her husband, then her son, and now her grandson, daughter in law and precious Cloudjumper were in danger as well. She couldn't bring herself to look up.
All in all, the Hooligans were in a very bad situation.
“Hello, Alvin.”
Alvin laughed in his regular way and sat down on the bed. “I heard you became Chief. How's that been for you?”
I sighed. “Good on occasion, but mainly troublesome.”
He laughed again. “Being Chief isn't all feasts and ceremonies,” he said, nearly wisely. “There's also the aspect of responsibility and sometimes war!”
I clenched my fists as he mentioned this, but moved on to another subject that had been bugging me. “How did I get here?”
“A patrol found a trio of Thunderdrums gathered round a body on the beach,” said Alvin. “They had obviously dragged it out of the ocean as it was completely drenched, but they didn't eat it, or even scratch it in any way. The only slight damage they did to it was playful biting.” He gestured to the bite marks in my armour and smiled. “It took me a moment to recognise you, but the metal leg gave it away. Been customising it, have you? Haha!”
“Three Thunderdrums?” I asked curiously.
“Yep,” replied Alvin. “They didn't look angry or anything. It even looked as if they knew you!”
I thought for a second. Could those three Thunderdrums have been Bing, Bam and Boom? Or Lloyd, or whatever we ended up naming him?
I turned the attention to Alvin himself. “And what about you, why are you here? I thought you took up travelling.”
“I did, I did,” replied the Viking. “But I heard rumours that Savage had been causing a bit of trouble, so I came back to see what was happening.” He scowled. “That idiot betrays me to go with Dagur just to save his own puny life, and then starts his own tribe to attack my allies!” Alvin looked at me and smiled, slightly maliciously, as if he was thinking about how to dispose of Savage. “Not going to let that happen, am I?”
I smiled back and held out my hand. “So, are we working together, then?”
Alvin took my hand and shook it. “Indeed we are!”
This one hasn't been proof-read, so make sure to let me know of any typos, grammar mistakes, etc!

Finally. Back. xD
SCREW YOU WRITER'S BLOCK AHAHAHAHAHA I'M FREE NOW
Spoiler: click to toggle Alvin lead me out of the small house, and I squinted a little at the change of light. I gasped as I saw everything around me.
From the looks of things, Alvin had made his own village, and it was bustling with activity. Men and women were either chatting, trading with each other or were busy working. But, of course, there wasn't a dragon to be seen. And I noticed that some people didn't look, or sound, very much like Nordics.
Alvin noticed me staring at a group of foreign-looking people. “They call themselves Celts,” he explained. “While travelling we came across a huge land full of them. They were a bit frightened when we arrived there at first – apparently Vikings don't have a very good reputation over there – but after reassuring them that we'd given up mindlessly killing, they soon opened up and some even wanted to tag along!”
“Wow...” was all I could reply.
As I looked around me, I couldn't help but feel a little sad. Alvin the Treacherous, once a merciless warrior, had turned a new page and founded his own village, this time a more peaceful one than on Outcast Island. And I had completely lost both mine and the people who lived there, not to mention my best friend, wife and son.
Alvin saw my disheartened face and put his hand on my shoulder. “Don't worry, 'iccup. We'll get your island back!”
“How though?” I asked.
“We'll give you a hand!” he replied, patting my back.
“But you don't have dragons!” I said, a little exasperated. “How can we fight his army?!”
Alvin simply chuckled. “There are animals other than dragons in this world, 'iccup. Let me show you.”
“Wha-” I started, but he started walking towards a large wooden building resembling a barn. I quickly followed him, curious to know what he was talking about.
We soon reached the entrance of the barn, and a strange, heavy breathing could be heard from inside. It didn't sound like a dragon's. Strange hollow noises that sounds like wood hitting stone could be heard from inside also.
“What in Thor's name do you keep in there?” I asked, a little anxious.
Alvin laughed. “You'll see.”
He opened the door, and my jaw instantly dropped. Part of me wanted to run away, but I also wanted to find out more about what was in front of me.
It was a large, four-legged beast, with a tail that sort of resembled a fox's but was longer and looked more like hair than fur. More hair lined its neck, it had a strange, long face, and it didn't look scaly. Instead, it looked like it was covered in extremely short fur. Several of the creatures were tied to wooden posts, but a couple roamed freely, and their footsteps echoed against the stone slabs beneath them. It was like nothing I'd ever seen.
“Hey, not just anyone can walk in here!” came a voice from the corner of the barn, where that were several piles of hay. It was an old man who looked extremely familiar, and his anger left as he realised it was Alvin and I.
“Hiccup! What a surprise!” he said, leaning against his staff. “You've aged well! Shame I can't say the same about me'self, heh...”
“Mildew!” I exclaimed. To be honest, I thought he'd have passed away from old age by then. “So you're in charge of looking after these creatures?”
Mildew nodded. “Much more pleasant than looking after those pesky dragons, that's for sure!” He laughed, then coughed. “Come, I'll introduce you to my favourite one!”
He lead me to one of the beasts that was walking around freely. It resembled the others in shape, but unlike them, who were brownish in colour, it was white with grey marks here and there.
Mildew put up his hand and started stroking the creature's side. It made a grunting noise in response.
“Stroke him, let him know you're a friend,” he said to me, partly echoing words I'd said to him years ago.
Nervous and shaking, I lifted my hand towards the beast's long face.
“Careful, he might mistake your fingers for carrots, ha ha!” laughed Alvin from behind us.
Cautious about his statement, I ever so slowly placed my hand on the animal's nose and started stroking it gently. It was surprisingly soft.
I turned to Mildew, who had started brushing the creature. “Mildew, what are these animals called? Do they have a name?” I asked him.
He nodded. “The Celts call them... um...” He paused, as if trying to remember the word. I wasn't surprised at this, as it was probably in their language and not ours. “Aha! I remember it now. The Celts call them 'horses' ”.
Let me know of typos and the like, no proofread this time
Also I AM THE QUEEN OF PLOT TWISTS AND UNEXPECTED THINGS MUAHAHAHA
Spoiler: click to toggle For those of you who are gonna say "it's called a mane, not hair!" "horses don't have fur!" "a horse tail doesn't look like a fox's tail!!"
Remember, Hiccup has never seen a horse before. Ever. Neither have any of the Vikings except for those in Alvin's village. They have no idea that the word "mane" exists, or any of the horse vocabulary exists, so Hiccup has to compare it to things he already knows. Give him a break xD

In spoiler tags as it is not in relation to the story I know this might be a bit off-topic and selfish, but I haven't had any feedback on my new story yet, and I'd really like some! The third chapter is up, and has been for a day or so!
But in regards to the fanfic, really great plot twist, as cometotheberkside said! I can't help thinking that the Vikings might have known what horses were though, as they probably used them as a mode of transport other than ships before they made peace with dragons. At least, that would explain why Hiccup's friends and the other Vikings learnt to ride them so quickly.

Thank you both!! yissss plot twists are my thing xDD
@nightfury123 - True, but they've never mentioned any knowledge of horses beforehand and we've never seen any in the franchise, plus I think the dragons would probably eat them if there were any on Berk or on the nearby islands xD

In the second episode of the first season of the TV series- Viking for Hire- I believe Gobber says something along the lines of "I've made a lot of saddles in my time. Horse, donkey, and now dragon." This suggests that although we've never actually seen them, they are ridden by the Vikings.
And I don't think the dragons would eat them, even if we haven't seen them (maybe that's the reason why we haven't seen any? ), said reptiles were taught to not frighten the other domesticated animals that we have seen around Berk. And they weren't going to eat them anyway (well, they used to...) ; the animals just thought they were.
Edit: Wait a second... MY OLD ACCOUNT IS BACK!!!!! I think... Unless it's just a glitch...

Oh yea, I'd forgotten that well, imma go with the theory that even though Gobber has made saddles for them, we've never seen any actually being ridden or seen Hiccup encounter any
