Here's a modern AU one shot that as of right now isn't near being finished, but here's a sort of prologue to perhaps get some of you interested.
I apologize for all the name changes in advance but here's a key:
Reagan- Book Hiccup
Erland- My OC
Cam-Camicazi
Bennett- Book Fishlegs
Jason- Movie Hiccup
This was all inspired by RPs with my friends in our own modern AU, so enjoy.
Prologue
"Name?"
"Reagan Parker."
"Age?"
"Fourteen."
"Where were you on September eighteenth?"
"I don't remember. Why am I here anyway?" I shifted my weight to the other side of my seat as I asked that dreaded question. Why was I here, in the middle of an interrogation with a police officer? What in the world had I done? I recalled doing absolutely nothing, so why did they keep insisting something happened? What actually happened on September eighteenth?
---
Sometimes being a student with a photographic memory can get you far in life, but some days, all you want to do is question why in the world it's such a great thing. I mean, usually people would tease me about it but they would eventually leave it alone, mostly because they'd get bored of mocking the silent student that never says anything back.
That all changed when a certain new kid came to town… Erland Treacherson, also known as the most aggravating 9th grader known to man. Until he showed up I could just grin and bear my problems with little difficulty, but there was something off about Erland. No one could quite put their finger on it. At first he just seemed like the normal rebel student that hardly ever does homework and doesn't give a care in the world. But there was more than that....
Erland was... Different... And I don't mean the good different that everyone should embrace. I mean the kind of different that makes his family seem like the Addams family in comparison to anyone else. Maybe I shouldn't think like that, but in my defense that was the only simile I could think of to possibly describe them. I'm all for accepting new people but it's kind of hard to accept a person that could simply look at you and make you feel intimidated. It, didn't help that his parents also hated me. Especially his father. For some reason Mr. Treacherson couldn't stand me, but then again neither could anyone else. Except my small band of friends that is.
Cam, Bennett, and Jason were all pretty close to me. They're actually a few of the only people that actually care about me as a person. Around them, Erland would only tease us in a playful, bully-like fashion. However, when I was alone, strange things would happen like gravity, electricity, or a bunch of other things would suddenly become my enemy. While most people would say I was clumsy, it's more than that. It happens every time Erland walks by, like he's some sort of bad luck charm to my ego.
But anyway… that's all besides the point... Today, September eighteenth, I was determined to figure out what Erland's little secret was…
