Speaking from the context of fanfiction:
I'm not sure whether I have specific AUs that I really like, for me it really just depends on the story, and how well the story's written. That said, I do quite like modern AUs, and I'll give any Hiccup-runs-away story a try, no matter how bad the summary is.

I'm not terribly fond of actual AUs, but I do enjoy a good "is this a dream or not" type setting. Though I would enjoy a fanfic where the characters of the universe we know and love stumble across an AU but manage to get back in the end -- does anybody know of anything like that?

Boy behind the mask is a exallent story but again anthing written by harrypather is exallent
