Did anyone else see snotlout wipe a tear from his face when they found out hiccup was alive? XD
Yes, and inhonoredglory once said that she always thought of that moment as kind of proving Snotlout isn't as heartless as everyone thinks. Snotlout is still Hiccups cousin, no matter how many times he gets ticked off or annoyed at him, and likewise with Hiccup, he would still be devastated if he died that day.
Here was her blog post about it

a message from lovessnotlout
There's one thing I dislike about many dragons fans. People almost always think Snotlout is a horrible person and a bully. I don't even understand why people think that way when Snotlout only ever even did three "bullish: things to Hiccup. (In my opinion Astrid was more of a bully to him than Snotlout).I don't understand people sometimes...
avannak:
No, Astrid certainly wasn’t more of a bully than Snotlout, I will argue with you on that (though she did lose her temper with him at one point and hurt him… not nice
)
Snotlout enjoyed putting Hiccup down about as much as the twins did. They were the worst of it. And we do get the impression that Snotlout was encouraged to do so (his book counterpart certainly doesn’t help). I even believe he’s hurt Hiccup in the past (not that Hiccup just stood there and took it). But in the end, Snotlout is a big woobie. He’s obstinate for sure, and can be an inconsiderate jerk. Personality flaws, nothing more. He has Hiccup’s back in the end and he’ll fight for the good cause. Plus, just watch him with Hookfang! That’s how you can tell a person’s character: watch’em with their dragons.
Snotlout was pretty cruel, but his meanness to Hiccup was actually on a shallower level than it was with Astrid (imo), who faulted him for a serious ignorance on his place in Viking society, and their tribe specifically. But Snotlout can have an affection for Hiccup, despite his hard cover, and he does have a soft heart at the end of the day.
(I always go back to HTTYD1 when he was crying when Hiccup was discovered alive and I know he’s not an arrogant jerk at heart, it’s just his cover story to pepper over his own weaknesses)

I asked him how Hiccup lost his leg cause you guys told me too and he said Toothless couldn’t grab Hiccup and that the closest body part of Hiccup was his foot so Toothless teeth grabbed his foot and the foot broke in half and fell off of Hiccup.
AWESOME!!!!
This is SUPER COOL OMGOSH. Say hi from the fandom. Told you Hiccup lost his leg to Toothy. And HTTYD4? Aah!!

the way Hiccup climbed the stairs in an attempt to avoid Stoick, my brothers climb the stairs like that as well. [on all fours]

I was just watching HTTYD and I noticed during the big Green/Red Death battle before Hiccup and the others arrive, that Stoick's shield.. if you look closely and you sort of forget the center piece of metal is there.. is actually a duck silhouette..

in httyd2 they pretty much confirm it so ya
I always thought that's how he lost his leg. Also go back to the beginning scene of the movie where hiccup taps his trebuchet ( the mangler I think it's called ) and it miss fires into the random Vikings face. Just play that same part over and over again and listen to the sound

Not my fav, but neat and something I did not notice until pointed out to me.
Toothless is actually the first character we see. If you watch on the mid-lower right when they are showing the Dreamworks logo, you can actually see him fly through the background.
OH my god i was just about to point this out! it really made me happy i saw the night fury fly in the dreamworks logo bg at the intro. it was such a nice touch.

I like how the relationships are so complex that they seem real. The whole world seems real. That's what makes it so enticing to me.

Okay I may be looking to far into this but......
Notice during dragon training and Gobber tells Hiccup "A dragon will always go for the kill" then the scenes switches to Hiccup looking for Toothless in the woods and he says "So why didn't you?"
Later when the Vikings take Toothless to find the nest, Hiccup wonders why he just didn't kill Toothless when he found him. Astrid mentions the how other Vikings would've killed Toothless then she ask the same question "So why didn't you?"
