I've had a gut feeling that Valka is going to die for some time now. I don't know exactly why that is, but she just seems like someone destined to be a tragic character to me. Stoick I'm not sure about. I still don't feel like he's as likely to die as Valka, but after seeing the new trailer, I do concede that the possibility of him dying for his reunited family exists.
The idea that Stoick could be the one who dies has been pretty feasible for awhile in my opinion.I don't think this trailer made it any more possible than it already was really. But I agree my pick has always been Valka. Since as you said she just feels like more of a tragic character. I also am going to put forward (as a theory) though that she will more than likely die protecting the very thing she ("possibly" since this isn't really anything proving this and it's more just me.) choose to walk away from so many years ago.
I'm thinking along the same lines. The dragons in the ice cave (or whatever we're supposed to call it) certainly don't seem to be holding her hostage, so at the very least it seems like there has to be an element of choice on her part not to return to her family. If she dies protecting them, it would be a bittersweet and heartfelt redemption for that choice.
Come death. Come suffering. I will not live in fear. In this fleeting life where time escapes us, the path of least resistance is a slow quiet death. I'd rather burn out than fade away.

Is that really going to be an extended trailer or just the original ? They didn't elaborate much on what exactly they were doing at midnight. Just "httyd2" then gifs of what we've already saw. Not that I'm trying to doubt you, love.
