IDK if there's already a topic, but what were your first reactions to Hiccup's new look?

Mine was something like this:

And then I spent the next week recovering.

When I saw the teaser trailer and Hiccup's new look reveal, I was like:


Then I went to my mom and looked at her like this:

"MOM LOOK AT HICCUP!" I told her they were going to ruin the whole thing with his new design. I'm so sorry obviously now I think he's fabulous

For the next few days I was pretty much having a dragon panic attack:


But by the time the sequel rolled around, I was like:

Not gonna lie............ I didn't like it when I first saw it


but now (dont kill me) I actually like it better than his design in the first movie.... somehow young hiccup has become weirder to me than older hiccup

I was watching the first movie recently, and when I saw Hiccup, I kind of... flinched?

Is that wrong?

The first time I saw the older designs, my friend was showing me that really orange-saturated picture of Hiccup riding Toothless, so I couldn't see it really well, and I didn't even realize how much older he was supposed to be. She told me that he would be "older", but I didn't think it would be five years older, and I assumed he would only be like a year or two older, so I was just like, "Oh, alright." I didn't get the idea of how much older he really looked until he was on that magazine cover, and then I was like, WOAH!
But the first thing my mind went to was that episode from Spongebob were Squidward turns "handsome".

When I first saw the teaser for Httyd 2 I was in the theater with my friend and family cuz it was my little sister 9th birthday and we all went to go see Planes. The trailer started and I was like, " Hey isn't that Toothless? Who's riding him though?" Then about halfway through the trailer I finally realized it was Hiccup. When he took off his helmet I was like, " WHAT THE HECK DID THEY DO TO HIM HE'S HOT NOW!!!!!!" and spent the rest of the week obsessing about it to my friend, I don't think he minded though

Well, first (don't kill me...) I didn't think he looked too different.
(It was a small screen...)

But then I noticed the changes, and I quite liked it.

Then I considered how the heck he managed to get through puberty so well (and how I couldn't do the same...)

And then I thought back to teenage Hiccup.
...
I like the new one better.

Well, when I first saw the movie (in theaters), I was bawling my eyes out during THOSE scenes and when Hiccup became chief.

My parents didn't react beyond the usual comment.

I was surprised, and glad, my mother didn't say anything negative about Gobber coming out. Either she didn't get it, or, to her, she knew it was just a movie.

It's more than just a movie to me.

And when I first saw Hiccup, I didn't really like his new look.

Now, I can't see him any other way.
