When I was a kid, I LOVED Walter Farley's Black Stallion books. All of them.
Here's where "Forbidden Friendship" comes from:
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Stallion-Ke ... k+Stallion

Here's where I would LOVE HTTYD3 to go:
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Stallion-Re ... on+returns

Here's the book:
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Stallion-Re ... on+returns
In the book you got to learn all about the Black's lineage, that he was too wild to race, that his real name is Shetan (see the post on Dreamworks Lecture, link again is here:http://www.slideshare.net/mchasewalker/ ... -lecture-2) about breeding Arabian horses for racing--it was just too awesome.
If Dean DeBlois went this direction, we would probably see some phenomenal dragon racing through rock formations in the Arabian desert.
