You know? April Fools aside, this could have worked if it was real...

I do think though that PG-13 or just PG, the last "quote" from Dean in that article might still be true.

Hm, when I think about it - the best April Fools is the one that's actually a half-truth.
So the last quote might be true.

Honestly, I wouldn't be opposed to this if it was really happening. It would be a horrible business choice, but I personally would (rather happily) roll with it.

Despite the fact of this being a joke I would've been fine with a PG-13 rating. I mean I think the movie will be fine with a PG rating as well, but I definitely would've been okay with this. I think most people would be okay with it actually.
To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing some animated movies eventually start shooting for somewhat higher age ratings. Considering how much animation has pushed at the boundaries of the PG limit (in the past and even now) and what they can do with it to tell a story.

I agree with Demonwolf002. I would love to see more animated films push PG-13 as there are pretty much none that do. Plus animated films with a PG-13 rating could have storylines that appeal to older audience which would be absolutely fantastic. Its time that animation isn't just for kids. There is so much potential to expand beyond that. We just have to get over the barrier and stigma that animation = kids film.
