Maybe I'm just an idiot or not good at identifying things in music but these don't sound at all the same to me?? Did you mean borrowed as in "stole" or just that they might sound a bit similar?

I feel like that's stretching to find the connection. They may share a few note patterns here and there, but JP's work feels quite different to that. Similar note patterns are bound to happen at some point given the nature of music.
