As Hiccup has not yet become Batman at this point in the timeline, he'll have to settle for being Captain America.
All tired jokes aside, I like Hiccup's design here. It's a nice middle ground between the designs from the two films. I'll need a full-body shot of Toothless before I can comment on his design.

I still love that shield.
Shame Hiccup didn't use it in the second film. It would have complemented inferno nicely. Plus I can think of a few time it would have come in handy
