Not a spoiler, an observation on the epicness of the animation.
I got to watch several episodes with my 80-year-old European-immigrant mom. Sort of like watching Gothi with Gothi sitting right next to you, not kidding. Of course she loved Gothi, and the stick. Really loved the stick....
And the chicken.
For the first part of her life the family always had chickens around and she's very knowledgeable about how a chicken is supposed to act, and what it's saying.
The animators absolutely passed the chicken test. Good job, animators!

Episode 7
Spoiler: click to toggle The twins own the island? Time to find a new outpost. Animating all those Night Terrors and Fireworms couldn't have been easy.
Episode 8
Spoiler: click to toggle Nice to see Hiccup and Stoick interacting. I loved the look on Skullcrusher's face when he met Gobber.

Okay, episode 9 was good and that's pretty much all I have to say. My thoughts on episodes 10 and 11 could be found in another topic regarding this season...
So, episode 12:
Spoiler: click to toggle It was funny. I liked how we saw the very early prototype of Hiccup's flight suit. One thing I noticed, Astrid reffered to the leader of the Speed Stingers as an Alpha. If I'm not mistaken, shouldn't they NOT be aware of this at this point in time? Valka hasn't introduced them to the Alpha dragon, so how did Astrid know to refer to the leader with that name? Also, shouldn't the Alpha be the king of ALL dragons, not just a spesific breed? That wasn't thought through
Episode 13:
Spoiler: click to toggle Okay now I'm confused! Titan Wing is apperantly the thing where Toothless had his back glow when he fought the Alpha, right? How in the world are they aware of Titan Wing mode now when they have NEVER encountered one before? More over, I got the idea that this mode is turned on and off or something. By the way they were talking about it? It sounds like some of the dragons are just like that, no questions asked. What is going on!?
So until new episodes will arrive, this season was pretty great. I'm not sure what I think of the last two episodes but whatever, they're not awful by any means...

I've been wondering about some other things as well...
I'll put this one in spoilers.
Spoiler: click to toggle I believe the makers of the new series talked about a "brother team". I wondered if Gustav might've been planning to join Dagur again... I didn't quite think his apology to Hiccup was sincere... Anyway, if this did happen, they wouldn't be literal brothers; Dagur's name for Hiccup was "Brother", so he'd probably call Gustav that too.
It was also said that these brothers would have ties to Drago...
Maybe this'll all happen later, I'm not sure...

Regarding episode 12
Spoiler: click to toggle First off this was the episode I was referring to earlier when I was wondering what you might think about it, and I'm glad to see you liked it. I though it was quite good myself in giving us a nice look into the beginning of something, less on the nose then the comment we got from the Gustav episode.
Now about the alpha thing this isn't actually a mistake. One this isn't the first time the gang has seen Speed Stingers, and referred to the leader of the pack as an alpha. Also you need to remember the definition of alpha, which essentially boils down to leadership (at least when regarding packs and their mentality). So looking at the Bewilderbeast he is an alpha of his own pack. A pack that is one, much larger than any Speed Stinger pack and two, is also compromised of many different dragons. It shows off the Bwilderbeast's (or any prominent dragon with similar capabilities for example Toothless or maybe even the Red Death) talent and capability quite a bit that they can bring together many different dragon species. While Speed Stingers are only able to lead there own kind and no where near as large a group.
So the words usage here doesn't undermine the movie since it's something they should know about, and understand at this point in time, at least concerning pack mentality and alpha males. So essentially yes all dragons answer to the Bewilderbeast (or again a dragon of similar capabilities) they are the king and or queen of all dragons. Whether this is meant figuratively or literally is maybe up for some debate, and the speed stingers alpha doesn't negate this. But the Bewilderbeast (and I think you get the idea by now) isn't in control of 100% of the dragons at all times those that flock to them sure, but those that don't if they follow a mentality that needs a leader still need a leader, and in this case Speed Stingers follow a pack mentality so there needs to be an alpha male in the pack.
Regarding Episode 13
Spoiler: click to toggle This one I can't help as much on, but I have never heard anyone in the movie character wise refer to this as Toothless's titan wing mode. Nor have I heard anyone who was prominently involved with the story while making the movie call it this either. (If they have then you'll have to direct me to it because I haven't seen it or don't remember it.) I've only ever heard it referred to as alpha mode, but again I would still say the usage here is maybe? okay. Considering one this isn't a Monstrous Nightmare who is in Titan wing mode, but is in fact being referred to as a titan wing dragon. Number one because of it's size compared to other Nightmares (look at Hookfang for example), also might be because of it's age as well, and then you can include power, ferocity, and a few other things.
So it might be the shows creators way of showing that dragons are born differently sometimes. Like some may be born and are stronger and bigger than others in their species. For an example look at the Screaming Death definitely not your normal Whispering Death. So those dragons might be referred to as titan wings. Also the creators could be showing off titan wing dragons as more of an age thing. Although I have doubts this is what they were trying to get across. Unfortunately I can't be to much help on this one since it's hard to say I think, without any specific understanding and being told by those with actual knowledge of what the deal with Toothless or titan wings for that matter actually is.

For epsiode 12:
Spoiler: click to toggle Yeah this was done better than the episode with Gustav as it showes how Hiccup developed it and mastered the design(Sort of), not just a line that like "Hey! You know it from the second movie! Laugh!".
To out Alpha debate. While you have a point, I do want to bring something up. Alpha does stand for the leader of a pack; but in this case it's never established that any other type of a dragon leader is reffered to as an Alpha(Unless what you said about the Speed Stingers is true and the gang did refer to their leader as the Alpha. I know what episode you're talking about, I just don't remember the line). Astrid reffered to the Red Death as a queen and in this episode, Hiccup reffered to the Speed Stingers' leader as "Cheif". I'll give you that maybe the Alpha that's now with Valka isn't rullling over dragons that live far away from its nest, but I think my first point still stands. I mean, if this was post HTTYD 2 I would have gotten the idea that Astrid reffered to it as an Alpha simply because it's the leader of the breed. But since they're not aware of the Alpha yet, why would she reffer to it as an Alpha if she could have said leader, or chief like Hiccup did a few minutes ago. Again, I'll have to re-watch the episode with the Stingers to see if they do reffer to it as an Alpha.
Episode 13:
Spoiler: click to toggle I've seen a picture of Toothless in this Alpha mode in "School of Dragons"(Haven't played it, but I saw it while resarching stuff for my FanFic "An Alpha Protects His Own"(Read if you want- Shameless plug)) and it's reffered to as "Titan Wing Dragon". If you're going to say that it's just a game and shouldn't be considered cannon unless told otherwise, I was with you on that part until this episode. If they haven't reffered to that Nightmare as "Titan Wing" we probably wouldn't be having that debate right now. Now again, you have a point with how it's assumably bigger than regular Nightmares and such. But, again, we haven't heard ANYONE use that name before on anything! If they had reffered to the Screaming Death as a Titan Wing Whispering Death, I wouldn't have mind that. Better yet, again like with the Stingers, if this was post HTTYD 2 I would have accepted that if they came up with the name after seeing Toothless activate his mode. That Nightmare did seem to be glowing red in some parts of his body, like when Toothless's back glowed in the movie, so it makes sense. But Snoutlout just assumes on the spot what its type is with no explaination.
Man, this is fun to talk about... when I'm taking out the fact that I'm probably a nerd for knowing all of this Eh, who cares? It's a great franchise

episode 12 Don't forget though that dragons aren't the only animal to exist in this world. The franchise is more or less supposed to be our world just with the idea that dragons existed and they were as common as walking outside and seeing a bird fly over head. Granted we've not really seen any animals that work off pack mentality. Wolves being a readily available example, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I'm also fairly certain while the boars we've seen tend to group up fairly certain they don' have a pack mentality. So it could be argued they know what an alpha leader is based on other animals, but this is debatable. At the same time though I do feel assuming Valka showing them the Bewilderbeast is what gave them understanding of the word alpha and how it should be used(at least in regards to dragons), is maybe somewhat far fetched. I mean I think we can agree the Red Death, the Bewilderbeast, and Toothless after that point are somewhat in their own class of alpha. Compared to a regular alpha male/female who are just pack leaders.
episode 13 Titan wings are also referenced in Rise Of Berk although that's based on leveling the dragon up to "Titan level", but that's really neither here nor there. While I could definitely say neither this or the School of Dragons references should be considered. I kind of can't since we just don't have enough info about titan wings for me to give anything on other than thoughts really. So for now I would say this one is up in the air, maybe leaning toward the show may have slipped up on this part.
Also agreed definitely a lot of fun to talk about.

Episode 9
Spoiler: click to toggle The Catastrophic Quaken looks cool and ferocious.
Episodes 10 & 11
Spoiler: click to toggle Isn't the Deadly Nadder in the tracker class now? Make up your minds. Good to see Heather again, she seems tense and edgy. Being so focused on revenge is not good for one's mental health.
To hcsp1 and Demonwolf002
Spoiler: click to toggle Alpha is simply a position in a hierarchy. Smidvarg can be considered the alpha of his flock of Night Terrors. A Red Death or Bewilderbeast have several advantages that make them likely to be alphas over flocks of different species of dragons.
Titan wing was first mentioned in the short Book of Dragons. The Screaming Death was also described as a titan wing.
