Has anyone decoded the language of the vikings in the movies? It sounds like it could be translated or is it just random mush and letters that don't make sense?

If you mean the writing in the Book of Dragons and such, then yes - it is real writing, and people have decoded it.

I've been working on decoding the language for the past week (from the movie). What I've discovered and with the help of other fans doing the same thing, discovered that their are a mix of different languages in the series. The pic above is called the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc, the language in the book of dragons and in the Berkians everyday writing is called Young Futhark and there is also Elder Futhark that you will see in old scripture like old monuments or cave scriptures. So really there are three different styles of writing in the universe but the one they use on day to day basis is the Young Futhark.
