True, but at that point I thought Heather and Fishlegs where still an item, come the end of season 5. They will have to explain how to ends (probably with a heroic death for her and Dagur)

I doubt it's a heroic death for Heather and Dagur, otherwise, Astrid would be crying in the second movie, it's my opinion

I'd guess at maybe Heather dying if there were more time between RTTE and HTTYD2. As is, however, if Heathlegs only ends because Heather dies, then WHY IS FISHLEGS INTERESTED IN RUFFNUT SO FAST??? We already see the two of them drifting apart, and I don't see why there needs to be a hard-and-fast breakup or a death -- but especially not Heather dying because, as Luna pointed out, it would have too big of an emotional impact on the dragon riders.
I don't think Dagur will die, either. Honestly, would anyone even believe it if he did? You've fooled us once, DreamWorks... we will never trust again!

I know, I don’t understand why everyone thinks that Heather and Dagur have to die to not be a part of httyd 3. They don’t have to die, they don’t live with the dragon riders or on Berk. They could be focused on running their own island and their people. Or be searching for their mother even, or going on some other mission. I don’t think they have to die

If I were Dreamworks/Netflix, I would have them (Heather and Dagur) probably settle down to lead the Berserker tribe, kinda like what Submaripper said, and they just fade off.
