See any book references in the first movie or tv show? I see quite a few.

Sharpshot, Hiccup's Terrible Terror that he got in 'Worst in Show.' I think, that he looks like Toothless in the books.
I mean, look at the resemblance.

Alvin could be considered a reference.

I see more references in the TV series then in the movie in my opinion.

I personally only see about one or two references in the movie. Quite a lot of them are in the series.
