I think Hiccup will beat Alvin in the end but who knows....

Well, he /is/ able to write the books at 76 years old, so yeah, he's alive. If he's Alvin's slave / prisoner, I don't think he'd be able to write.

i think book 12 will have more character deaths

maybe Wodensfang and Furious?

Alvin has 99 lives, i doubt he'll die )

Cressida did mention in How to Steal a Dragon's Sword that she feared Hiccup had something to do with the dragon's disappearance. Now with the jewel in the picture, I have a bad feeling it will be used.

And possibly, by Hiccup himself

This is Cowell we're talking about. She's going to kill our hearts in a graceful but harsh way.

The twelfth book is officially written. It will be out in the UK in September and in the U.S. In November.

So the end is near then

I'ts kind of surreal in a way, but I still can't wait. Now to get the book then read through all 12 one more time.

Yep there was a topic specifically for it here ( http://forums.berksgrapevine.com/topic/11031106/1/#new ) actually. Nothing to much was said but it was definitely cool to get that small tidbit ahead of time from the book.
