MartianArchaeologist 04 Jun 2014, 21:20 | OOoooo, nonononooo, I didn't mean "Go watch the movie and you'll be cured!" I said "as part of a course of therapy". And "Under supervision of a therapist" And "friendly fire." And I'm guessing, cause I haven't seen the movie and I don't want to extrapolate spoilers. The thing about PTSD therapy is that UNDER SUPERVISION SOME PEOPLE are exposed in stages to situations that are at first distanced from what gave them the trauma, and then taught coping techniques, and then UNDER SUPERVISION are guided closer to the trauma. Seeing that this is a fantasy movie about dragons, this may provide some of the distancing that might be useful IN THERAPY. UNDER SUPERVISION. Eek, sorry about the confusion. In fact, since I'm autistic, I already said I needed the spoilers because heck, without those, it might be too intense for ME. And it's just autism, not what your cousin was subjected to. Eek. Glad your cousin is in a better situation, but I would still hope he would get some therapy. Actually they are developing some advanced therapy utilizing VR (Virtual Reality) UNDER SUPERVISION. ![]() |
