I cried when they used the Where's Hiccup cue from the first film when Hiccup and Valka were talking after the montage of their adventures. But for the most part I teared up at most parts of the film

It's not that they can't decide when to 'release' the film, it's just that previews technically tally towards the opening weekend's box office, so in essence, HTTYD2 has had like a 10 day opening weekend.
