I think this story has long been due an update, so here you go!
Spoiler: click to toggle
'Come on, Skullcrusher,' I said seating myself in front of Eret on the Rumblehorn's back. I patted him, to tell him to get moving.
'Hiccup, in case you were wondering, Skullcrusher can't fly in this smoke and flames.'
'I know that. It disorients dragons if they try to fly in smoke; their navigation system gets messed up. And how do you know this?'
Eret looked awkward.
'Well...erm, sometimes we set the forest on fire to trap dragons. Me and my crew, I mean.'
'But you're not doing that anymore, right?'
'No. Of course not.'
'Okay, so since you very kindly told me something which is basic knowledge...' I said sarcastically.
'...Looks like Skullcrusher will just have to walk through the smoke.'
'Oh, well done, Hiccup.'
'I'd like to see you do better, Eret.'
'I'll leave that to Valka, if you don't mind.'
'But I do. Anyway, let's just stop arguing, and save the others.'
Unfortunately, our plan was interrupted, as dragons blocked our path.
Eret's hand rested on the hilt of his sword.
'Eret, no. You'll only make it worse. And don't let them see it...'
Too late.
A Monstrous Nightmare growled upon seeing the sword, and leapt at Eret. But just before it got to him, I stepped in front of it with my hand held out.
The anger and rage faded from its eyes, and it accepted my touch. It went back to the other dragons, and presumably told them in dragon-talk to let us through, which they did.
A scream of defeated fury echoed around the room.

I have a compromise to suggest; every time I post a new chapter of this story, I'll post a new chapter of Fireproof too! Do you like that idea?
Anyway, here's Chapter One, as, once again, I wrote more on Wordpad!
Chapter One The Baby Stormcutter's POV
I was roughly stuffed into a dark place. Dark places are usually comforting- they remind me of my of my mother's den. But this dark place smelt wrong; of dragons. Dead dragons. I thought sadly of my mother. Although I could not see, I decided to find out what this dark place was. I rubbed my head against it. It felt scaly. Perhaps I was inside a dragon's skin? My mother's skin? But no. I remembered. The human who had taken me had worn something that smelt like this. He had called it a 'cape'.
Then I realised.
How dare he! This human, slaughtering a noble beast of my species! That was bad enough. And then he actually dared to wear this beast's hide, as a trophy of his victory! It seemed that many other dragons were a trophy of his victory too. His victory over them. They were still alive, too. This is the worst thing you can do to a dragon. To kill one is at least putting it out of further misery, but letting it live, to serve a human, when it would rather be dead than suffer, that is typical of humans.
Suddenly, I heard a snuffling sound, and I felt breath. A dragon was sniffing me out, trying to eat me. Then I heard the sound of sharp metal slicing into scales, and the dragon fell back with a thump and a shriek. I could hear it whimpering some distance away.
I noticed the human had stopped walking.
It screamed, 'HURRY UP!' at the dragon, and I heard the whack of metal against scales.
The human continued walking, the dragon following behind him.
Eventually, I could smell salt, and waves, and tasty seabirds. This reminded me of the place where my mother had gone hunting sometimes to catch fish. There were dragons living in the depths. Scauldrons, Seashockers, Thunderdrums, and...my mother had once told me of a dragon so huge that it dwarfed the others of its species living here. There were only a few left in exsistence. My mother had called it 'The King of the Ocean'.
And, incredibly, if I smelled hard enough, I could detect the scent of it. But it was yet another thing that smelt wrong. It smelt of rage and anger, which was strange; my mother had told me that these dragons were calm, good kings. This dragon did not smell calm, or good. It was almost as if it had once been calm and good, but something had made it like this. And, buried deep beneath that rage and anger, almost as deep as the sea floor itself, was sadness. Deep, unbearable, pathetic sadness. Misery. This smell reminded me of another thing. When the dragon had tried to sniff me, and laid on the ground, whimpering, it had smelt like that.
So, that meant, that 'The King of the Ocean' belonged to the human.
And now, so did I. Edit: Oh gods, I've posted this in the wrong thread...

Listen guys; I really don't know what to do with this story anymore. I mean, don't get me wrong, I have ideas for how it's going to end, but they just don't seem exciting anymore. Well, they're definitely less exciting than my ideas for A Dragon Trapper's Destiny, in my opinion. And I don't have writer's block, because as I've said just now, I do have ideas...
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is...I'll be taking a break from Fireproof for a while, until I finish A Dragon Trapper's Destiny. It's just that when I have some ideas for a new story, I get so excited about it that I can't wait to start it, and then I abandon my current story- which explains why I have quite a few unfinished stories.
Okay, so I guess I'm contradicting myself here a bit- when I say that I'll go back to unfinished stories, I can't be bothered, or I have a new idea, so in the end I'll just forget about it altogether...And then the cycle starts again...Do you see where I'm going with this?
I'd really appreciate your guys' help.

I've never had this problem before, actually. How I abandon ideas is if I think about it so much I get tired of it. Usually when I have new ideas, I try to merge it into my old one somehow
Why don't you set up a schedule? Say (because you update daily ) you update A Dragon Trapper's Destiny every day and Fireproof every three days? Because Fireproof is really close to an end, and if you try to finish it after finishing your new one, who knows? Maybe you'll get a new idea and abandon both fics.

Okay, I've decided to update this story because I'm determined to finish this, as it's the first story I've posted on FanFiction, and it would kind of be a bad omen if I discontinued it, in my opinion. That doesn't mean it'll be rushed, though!
On that note, here's Chapter Thirty Five!
Spoiler: click to toggle Hiccup's POV
Almost immediately after Drago had screamed, a black shape had landed in front of us. It looked like a Night Fury, but it wasn't Toothless.
I was a clever boy (as Drago had said in our last meeting), so I guessed that Drago hadn't changed his dragon-summoning call to something more...civilised. Then again, that kind of figured.
Wait. The last time Drago had screamed like that, he'd been summoning his Bewilderbeast. And Bewilderbeasts are Alphas.
So, did that mean that that was his call specifically for summoning Alphas?
If it did, then that meant...
Oh gods.
The-Night-Fury-that-wasn't-Toothless was an Alpha.
Well, there was only one way to determine that.
I hoped to Thor that Fishlegs was in the prison too. But, thinking about it, he would probably have been the first captured- I mean, he rode the slowest dragon, and he was terrified of everything.
"FISHLEGS!' I called.
"Yes?' a tearful voice replied.
'Fishlegs, why are you crying?' I asked, going over to his cell.
'Why do you think I'm crying, Hiccup?' he said angrily.
I stepped back slightly, surprised.
'Whoa, Fishlegs. Why are you so upset?'
'I'm sorry, Hiccup. I'm just really angry. He took my Meatlug- again!'
I didn't have to be a genius (not to brag, but I already was) to figure out that Fishlegs meant Drago.
'Don't worry. You're not the only one who's had their dragon taken.' Anger crept into my voice.
'But how can I not worry, Hiccup? She's probably been hypnotised by the new Alpha. That can't be good for her, twice in two years-'
'Wait, Fishlegs- you knew that Drago has a new Alpha?'
Fishlegs- and Valka- looked uncomfortable.
I sighed.
'You too, Mother? Why didn't you tell me?'
'We couldn't, Hiccup. And you need to figure these things out for yourself- I'm just trying to help you become a better Dragon Trainer. It's no good if I just tell you. Anyway, I'm proud of you.'
'Thanks, Mother.' I said, instantly forgiving her, and Fishlegs.
Awww...I hate to interrupt this, but...Master's orders... a cold voice- the Night Fury's- snarled.
She emitted a strange roaring noise.
You will obey me now, not the runt!
Instantly, the dragons who had previously been standing by to let us pass, with docile eyes, snarled at us, and said eyes snapped to slits.
They started to move towards us, slowly, the same way Toothless had done.
'Um, Hiccup, can I draw my sword now?' Eret asked worriedly.
'Yes.'
