Chapter 8 (Astrids PoV) "Oh gods" I breathed as the night fury approached me. He however didn't seem to have had a soft landing. He was limping badly on one foot. He winced in pain and looked down at me sadly. I blinked, not know what to do. And then I remembered how hiccup had tamed stormfly. I slowly held out my hand, but the dragon did not growl or snap. He starred at it for a moment. Before lowering his face into it and giving me a playful lick. "Friendly one aren't you" I said giving him a scratch under the chin. It seemed so weird. This night fury had rescued me. But why? The dragon gave a happy roar, but seemed to forget his injured leg. He yelped and decided to lie down, as I tried to figure out where we were. (Valkas PoV) I groaned getting up. Stormfly was lying next to me. I had managed to get onto her back after the explosion. But we hadn't made what you'd call a "controlled landing" by bashing into a tree. "Are you ok?" I asked her. She got to her feet and shook of some debris. "I'm fine" she groaned. I looked out a the land around me. Of in the distance I could see the familiar foggy mountain landscape, close to the nest. "Oh good" I sighed. We haven't gone to far off coarse". "What in thors name was that?" Said stormfly. "I don't know" I said. "Are you injured?" I asked the dragon. Stormfly lifted up her wings and scanned her body. "No, just cuts and bruises" she said. "Alright, when you ready I'll take you back to the nest and get another dragon to go in search of the others". Stormfly however still looked quite shaken from the explosion and wanted to rest. I sat down next to her, hoping that hiccup, toothless, astrid and snowy were ok. (Snowys PoV) "Hello?" I spoke into the wind. "Is anybody there?". I had woken up alone. And gods did everything hurt. I turned my head and in the distance I could see a dragon who blended in with the black rocks. "Toothless!" I screeched, running over to him. He was lying unconscious on the ground. "Toothless...toothless..wake up!" I said pawing him gently. Toothless gave a moan. "Ow!" He growled wincing in pain. He looked up at me and gave a weak gummy smile. "Oh gods..oh gods are you hurt. "Relax" he wheezed. "I'm fine.". "Oh no" I sighed. We both looked back at toothless's tin fin which had been torn badly. Toothless gave a deep sigh and but his head back on the ground. "Where's hiccup?" He murmured. "I don't know?" I sighed. He lifted his head. "Hiccup?" He called into the emptiness of vast black rock. "Hiccup!" He called once again. This time trying to stand up. He stumbled and fell as I caught him at the last minute. "Thanks" he mumbled. He made his was up a rocky black hill and I followed. When we both got to the top he let out a gasp. The area in front of us was made up of large sea stacks and was covered in fog. "Hellheims gate" breathed toothless. I looked at him confused. "The location of the old nest". "Home of the red death, who me and hiccup killed". "Oh" I said realising the story. "You can go and find valka and the others a...". "No toothless" I said cutting him off. "I'm not leaving here without you". I nuzzled him and he gave a soft purr. (Astrids PoV) The day was coming to an end. The sun was setting on the horizon. I stroked the night furys head as he lay down. I sighed and looked out at the ocean. The dragon looked up at me. Wondering by the look in his eyes what was wrong. "I'm fine" I said. "I just..I miss this boy". The dragons ears pricked up. "This whole thing has been crazy". "But all I want is to see hiccup". The dragon cooed and looked me straight in the eye. "What? Did you know hiccup? Did he train you?". He exhaled deeply and put his head on the ground. I sighed one more time and patted the dragons head. "You're a strange one" I smiled. "But I like that" (Stoicks PoV) I had been lying in bed all day. With no chiefs duties what so ever. When I was interrupted by a fierce knocking on the door. "Alright, alright, I'm coming" I moaned. I opened the door to reveal phlegma, astrids mother, looking anxious. "Stoick, I know astrid has a habit of wondering off, but she's been missing all day". "Strange" I said to myself. I guided phlegma down to the plaza, where I interrupted gobbers work. "Gobber have you seen astrid?" I asked. "Astrid?" Said gobber. "Yes astrid, that feisty one who used to train with...". I felt my Adam's apple bob up in my throat. "Hiccup". "Oh right, astrid!" Realised gobber. I rolled my eyes."No I haven't". "Oh gods" moaned phlegma. "No need to worry" I assured her. "Gobber, assemble a team and go look for the girl in the forest". "I'll take a boat out to the neighbouring islands". Gobber nodded and brought phlegma with him. I made my way down to the docks. (Toothless's PoV) We had been wondering what to do. Hiccup and the others were nowhere to be found. "You could show me hellheims gate" suggested snowy. "Um I don't know" I replied. "Oh come on" she said. "Alright" I finally agreed. We had made our way over rocks and shipwrecks in the dense smoke like fog. Eventually we found ourselves in the middle of hellheims gate. I sensed something. But it wasn't danger. It was almost like a memory. The sky was an inky black colour and it was starting to spit rain. "Come on toothless" said snowy. "I found a cave up here". We scrambled up the wet rock and found ourselves in a small empty cave. Suddenly the memories pierced my heart and soul. This was not just an empty cave. "Th..this..was.....where she died". "Who?" Said snowy. "M...mom" I breathed. "Your mom" said snowy softly. Without warning I burst into tears. "Woah woah woah, it's ok" comforted snowy. I looked up at her, a little embarrassed. Before I sighed and slumped onto the floor. She lay down next to me and nuzzled me. "I was so young when she died" I told her. "One night she came home from hunting with an arrow wound". "And the next morning...she was dead". Snowy looked at me with sad eyes. I started to cry again, but this time more softly. Snowy licked my face free of tears and began to murmur words of comfort. "It's okay" she whispered to me. "I'm sorry" I mumbled. She gave me a kiss on the cheek and looked at me with teary pink eyes. "Don't be" she said. I smiled. (Hiccups PoV) The rain was pouring down on us. I was soggier than a scauldron! Astrid however was dry underneath my wing. She was finishing off the remains of a fish which we had caught and roasted earlier. "Are you sure you don't want to go and find shelter?" Said astrid. "No" I said knowing that she wouldn't understand me. I knew that she was thinking about me. But I didn't mind the rain and besides, my leg was really hurting. "Ok" said astrid, wondering why I didn't want to find shelter. Lightning flashed in the distance. Astrid and I jumped. "Come on we need to find shelter" said astrid a little scared. I got up and hobbled along after astrid. "Look" she said. "A cave". It was a very small cave but a cave nonetheless. I entered and shook the rain water of my scales, before lying on the cold cave floor. Astrid lay down by my wing. We both weren't tired. It was almost nice this. Being with astrid. I just wish that she knew it was me. And I wished I knew were the others where. Especially toothless. But I decided to stop dreaming and rest for awhile. Astrid however seemed quite wide awake, in fact a little jumpy. I looked at her confused. "What's wrong?" I cooed. Astrid seeing my concern went slightly red in the face. "I'm ok" said astrid. "I just..kinda need to go". I tilted my head in confusion even more. "You know....'go''she winced. Now I understood. I gently nudged her to the back of the cave and covered my wings over my eyes, to indicate that I wasn't going to peek. Astrid giggled and beckoned me away. I went back to lie on the cave floor. She returned moments later looking relieved, but stopped and looked down at my swollen leg. "Oh gods" she said. "That must really hurt". "Yeah" I moaned. She sat down and patted my head. "I used to believe that dragons were pure killing machines" she sighed. "But now I realise, everything we know about you guys, is wrong". "And hiccup knew that too". I said nothing, but looked up at her. All I wanted to tell her was "I am hiccup". "And I missed you astrid". (Stoicks PoV) The ship was violently bobbing from side to side, threatening to keel over in any second. The waves were crashing against the sides like dragon fire. Up in the sky, lightning was crackling with electricity, like a skrill. Thor was angry. I had been tossed and turned everywhere and I tried to make my way the the wheel. But with a slip I fell once more. Only this time, I fell unconscious. Hello readers! I have been doing exams for a week and I'm finally finished. Sorry if this chapter was a bit boring. And sorry for the delay. |

YAAAAAAAAY you finally wrote the next chapter when I saw that there was a new post by Night fury fire in The dragons curse I just thought "YES!". Amazing, as usual! I was shouting at my laptop: "ASTRID THAT IS HICCUP, FOR THOR'S SAKE!!"What's gonna happen neeeext??

Thanks! And the toothless father thing. I don't really know I had trouble trying to put that into the sequel. That's the way I wanted to leave my other story. For this I want to focus more on toothless and snowy. But thanks anyway for the idea and for reading
