I want to know what you guys think of chapter one of my httyd fanfiction. Chapter 1 A little island sits alone in the vast ocean. The sky is full of sparkling stars. A mother is sitting outside the chiefs hut with her baby, admiring the beautiful sky. She is waiting for her husband, the chief of their tribe, to return home. Then the screeches of hundreds of hundreds of fire-breathing, flying reptiles fill the air. Then the dragons come. The dragons come barreling over the hills, all different colors, sizes, and breeds. With every dragon that comes into the village, another soldier protecting the village falls to the ground dead. Soon the Vikings are forced to retreat and head for the docks. The mother and baby are almost to the docks but a Nadder blocks their way. The woman takes off her helmet and gently places her baby girl inside of it. She then draws her sword and charges towards the Nadder. The dragon lunges foreword with a ferocious roar, then everything fades away. Freyja woke with a gasp of terror. Four times, four times this week she's had that same nightmare. "It's just a dream, it's just a dream." she repeated to herself. But deep down Freyja knew it wasn't just some nightmare. It was her past coming back to haunt her. I know it's kinda short XD |

I like it  I'm interested in more, I have the same short chapters problem... I just keep having to remind myself to add more detail  |

Thank you! I'm gonna get to work on Chapter 2 it's in Hiccup's point of view. I'll also try to make it a bit longer. |
