"We're almost there, Drago. Just a few more miles and we'll be-' "ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!" Eret's scream of fury pierced the mist. "YOU IDIOTS! STOP CRASHING THE SHIP!!!" Eret's outburst frightened the caged dragons. They started to roar, and screech, and squawk, terror and hate in their eyes. "SHUT UP!" roared Drago, banging his hook on the side of the ship. The dragons were instantly silent. "Good..." he growled. "We're here...' Eret whispered. "GET THE NETS READY!!!" "Shhh, Drago, we need to be very quiet...The dragons will hear us..." "Who are you giving orders to, boy?!" snarled Drago. "Umm... No one..." Eret gulped. "I'll go and check around..." He jumped off the ship, and walked forward uncertainly. Eret couldn't hear anything. It was eerily quiet. "Drago,' Eret called, 'There aren't any dragons here...' "WHAT?!?!" Drago grabbed Eret by the throat with his hook. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!?!" "What I said, Drago.' Eret said calmly. "WHY?!" "Because Hiccup killed the queen of the nest, and the dragons have gone.' "Hiccup...Hiccup...Hiccup!!!' Drago screamed, so furious he actually tore a piece of the ship out with his hook, and bit it. Eret cleared his throat. There was at least a 90% chance of death with what he was about to say anyway; with Drago in this mood, probably a 100% chance. He gulped. "Um, Drago... I have something I need to tell you...' "WHAT?!?!" Drago roared, putting his hook to Eret's throat again. "Well... you see, I'm not a dragon trapper any more...' Drago growled with fury, like an animal. "I'm a dragon-ri-' AGGGGGGGGHHHH!!!" "TRAITOR!TRAITOR! TRAITOR!" Drago had picked up Eret with his hook alone, and was dangling him from over the deck of the ship, a few centimetres away from the freezing cold, deep, deep, sea... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And that's the story so far. I plan to update it, for now though, please tell me what you think should happen next! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- He loosened his grip on Eret, and as he did so, a dragon swooped down and caught him in his claws. Drago was puzzled. As Eret was being carried off, he didn't yell out for help. Then he realized: that was Eret's dragon. It would certainly make a very good war-dragon... "GET THEM!" ------------------------------------------------------------ "Come on, you stupid dragon, fly!' I said with gritted teeth, sweat pouring down my face. "Don't call me stupid, human...' hissed my Monstrous Nightmare. 'If you do, ever again, you'll regret it...' "Do you even know what Drago will do to us if he catches us...? Because I do...' "Believe me, boy, I know only too well... My dragon-brothers are in cages down there... And I will meet the same fate...' "Will you just stop being so negative?!" I yelled. Suddenly, a net came towards us. My Monstrous Nightmare didn't even bother to move out of the way. "AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!" We were going down... I felt a hard thing hit me, it felt like a rock. Then I couldn't remember any more. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I felt a flickering forked tounge lick me. I opened my eyes and saw my poor dragon in chains. "Hello again, boy...' a voice snarled. "Drago...' I gasped. "DRAGON!" Drago roared. My Monstrous Nightmare instantly stood up. Drago took a key from his belt and unlocked the cage door. "If you move, boy, you and your dragon will die.' My dragon slunk out of the cage and went to Drago. "See? I'm his master now...' "NO!' I sobbed, tears streaming down my face. 'Now you'll see what happens to people who betray Drago Bludvist... KILL HIM!' My dragon blasted his lava-like flame at Drago. He didn't scream with the pain of being burned alive. He snuffed the flames out with his cape. His cape... Of course! It was made of dragon-skin- it was fireproof! Then my dragon went over to me, and stood between me and Drago. "If you want to kill him, you'll have to kill me first... Go through me..." "Move, dragon.' Drago whispered with quiet menace. My dragon didn't move. Drago's eyes narrowed. He moved towards my dragon, and raised his hook... "NO!" I ran in front of my dragon, and drew my sword. I slashed at Drago's hook. This was a mistake. Drago curled his hook around the blade, and twisted it out of my hand. I was unarmed. Drago swiped viciously at my face, and the curve of his hook cut into my cheek. "OOOOOWWWWW!" I screamed with pain, and this gave Drago enough time to push me to the ground. I banged my head on one of the cages. Everything went blurry for a second. Then my vision cleared, and I looked up into Drago's murderous, scarred face. Then my dragon pushed Drago out of the way and stood between me and him again. The Monstrous Nightmare leapt fowards with a terrible growl. The other dragons growled too. "Come, dragon-brothers. Let us finish off this human. He was the one who put you in these cages..." Snarls and screams of terror and hate filled the misty air. By now, Drago had realized that he was in trouble. "BEWILDERBEAST!" he roared. A huge dragon stomped out of an equally massive cage. It let out a terrible ROAR. "Yes, Master?" the Bewilderbeast hissed. Drago could not understand dragons, but he guessed the dragon was asking him what he wanted. The Bewilderbeast turned towards the captive dragons, and my dragon. ------------------------------------------------------------- "I AM THE GREAT AND MIGHTY BEWILDERBEAST, KING OF THIS NEST-' "Well, technically, it's not a nest, it's a ship-' "SILENCE, HUMAN!!!" He growled at the dragons. "SO, YOU ARE BEING DISOBIEDIENT TO MY MASTER, CORRECT?" I snarled at him, like a dragon should. "HOW DARE YOU SNARL AT YOUR KING!" A massive foot crushed one of the nearby cages. Luckily, it didn't have a dragon inside. "THIS WILL TEACH YOU..." The dragon lowered his mighty head, so I could see his huge, red, bloodshot eyes. They were so big, I couldn't resist looking into them. They were amazing, like pools of molten lava... ------------------------------------------------------------- The next thing I knew, I was back in my cage again. "AM I YOUR MASTER NOW?!" the Bewilderbeast bellowed. I squeaked with terror, and scurried to the back of my cage, trembling. The dragon growled with satisfaction. He stomped back off to his cage. "Tomorrow,' Drago snarled, "We will fight the runt, and his dragon friends...' ------------------------------------------------------------- Hiccup rode on Toothless, his hair blowing in the wind. They were flying over Drago's camp. Dragons screeched in fear and terror; their roars for help could be heard, even from this height. "OK, bud,' Hiccup whispered. 'Fly us down over there...' Stoick, Valka, Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, and the twins were waiting for Hiccup on their dragons. They were assembled in a line, ready for battle. ------------------------------------------------------------- High on the peak of a cliff, Drago surveyed his Dragon Army. The rebel dragon, who was now a recruit, was in the Monstrous Nightmare rank. Eret was standing rather nervously next to his boss. "Um, Drago... We don't have to go to war, you know...' "Who commands this army?' "Uh, you.' "Exactly. That means that I'm their master, AND THEY GO TO WAR WHEN AND WHEREVER I TELL THEM TO, NOT YOU!" Drago's screaming reached the dragons below, and silenced their clamour. It also reached the other side, where Stoick's army was. "Drago seems angry...' whispered Tuffnut. "Well, of course he does, idiot.' Ruffnut snapped, punching her brother in the back. "OW!' Tuffnut yelped. "Guys! Be quiet! Drago will hear us!' Hiccup whispered. Drago had already heard it. He banged his stick on the ground in fury. "ERET! I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO GO TO YOUR DRAGON!" "Oh... Right, of course.' Eret looked down nervously at the 100 foot drop over the cliff. "How do I get down...?' "You JUMP.' "But... I'll die...' "My Bewilderbeast will catch you. Hopefully...' he added with a nasty grin. Eret swallowed hard, and jumped off of the cliff. He landed on the Bewilderbeast's back. The Bewilderbeast growled, but when his Master looked at him, he lowered his great head, and allowed Eret to climb down him, eventually reaching the safety of the ground. He ran over to his dragon. The Monstrous Nightmare cowered. "Hey...hey, it's me...' Eret soothed, gently scratching in between the dragon's horns. When he was done, Eret looked at his dragon. He felt terrible. He had betrayed him. Eret buried his face in the dragon's scales, so Drago could not hear him sobbing. "I did this...' ------------------------------------------------------------- Eret could hear a gigantic stomping sound. He looked up, and saw Drago, standing on his Bewilderbeast's head. Eret wiped his tear-streaked face, for fear that Drago should see that he'd been crying. Drago didn't. "Mount your dragon, boy. Get ready for war...' -------------------------------------------------------------- As Drago's Bewilderbeast walked past, every single dragon moved out of it's way, and bowed their heads to their king. All except one. Eret's Monstrous Nightmare. The Bewilderbeast whipped his head around with astonishing speed, for how big he was. "All dragons bow to me...' Drago whispered, steel creeping into his voice. "ALL DRAGONS BOW TO ME!!!' he screamed, when the dragon did not bow. Drago jumped down from his Bewilderbeast. Eret tried to dismount his dragon in terror, but he realized it was useless when Drago's hook closed around his leg. "I gave you a chance to live, boy... Sometimes, I am merciful... But only when I want to be... Now, get your dragon to bow, or I will use his skin as a cape, and his head, and yours, will be on my wall...' "No, Drago,' Eret said calmly, his words echoing. 'I will not.' -------------------------------------------------------------- "Goodbye, boy...' Drago released his hook from my leg, and started to move it towards my chest... The next thing I knew, I was high above the ground. I could see the thousands of dragons in the Dragon Army. "You're not getting away from me this time, boy.' Whatever had me in its claws was flying fast now. But it wasn't fast enough... A net came flying towards me. It had caught the dragon, and we were going down. Then someone jumped off of the dragon. Someone who was wearing a helmet. And a flight suit. "HICCUP! HELP ME...!' "Eret, I'll be back as soon as I can. Toothless will fly you back...' "Wait! Where are you going?!' "To Drago...' "ARE YOU CRAZY?! HE'LL KILL YOU!' But Hiccup had already flown away. -------------------------------------------------------------- I landed, and saw Drago's Bewilderbeast. Apparently, the Bewilderbeast could control humans too, because I was shaking and sweating, and I could barely put one foot in front of the other. When I saw Drago, I nearly passed out. He was standing on the Bewilderbeast's head. "So, you've decided to meet your end, have you, runt?!" "I won't be meeting my end today, Drago. You will.' "Oh, really? Come with me...' I climbed up onto the Bewilderbeast and joined Drago. I saw the enormity of the Dragon Army, and I wasn't quite sure if Drago would be meeting his end today. I would. The Bewilderbeast has started to control me, I thought. I felt like I couldn't feel my legs, or my arms anymore. I didn't feel anything when Drago pushed me off of the dragon. "KILL HIM!" he screamed. He sounded very far away. When I saw a Night Fury flying towards me, I passed out. -------------------------------------------------------------- I had dropped Eret off at our army base, and flew off as quickly as I could to find Hiccup. When I saw my Master lying on the ground, I thought he was dead. Dragons were closing in. I stood by my Master, and growled. I tried to fight them off, but they were clearly winning. Then I saw Drago approaching on the Bewilderbeast. My pupils flashed from slits to full. No... it was controlling me... He climbed down. I ran, almost lovingly, into his hook. He stabbed me in the throat several times, and I laid there, panting. I was losing a lot of blood. I could see Drago's hook covered with red. "Die, Night Fury, die like your mother and father did...' -------------------------------------------------------------- "Valka, will Toothless be alright?' "He'll live, Hiccup, and so will you.' I opened my eyes. I saw the faces of the two humans I loved most in the world: Hiccup and Valka. Cloudjumper and the Bewilderbeast were looking at me anxiously. I tried to get up, but Valka pushed me down gently. "No, Toothless, you've got to rest. You've got terrible wounds.' "Tell us what happened, Valka.' "Oh, Hiccup, it was so terrible...' Tears sprang to Valka's eyes. "That man is a monster... How could he do that to all those dragons... And that poor Bewilderbeast... He's suffered more under Drago's control then all of them...' "Let me tell you the story...' How I Found Toothless I found you, Toothless, with terrible wounds. Drago had left you and Hiccup to die. When I saw Hiccup, I thought he was dead, too. I thought I'd lost my son... I'd already lost him for twenty years... I couldn't lose him again... I put Hiccup on Cloudjumper, and then Toothless. Cloudjumper flew back to base camp, while I made you both better. Hiccup, in comparison to Toothless, had only got a few bruises after falling from the Bewilderbeast. Toothless... Toothless had huge gashes on his throat, and terrible bites from dragons. Every one of those wounds was pouring with blood. You were close to death, very, very close. |
