Derik goes back to stirring the ship. "HEY!! EVERYONE SETTLE DOWN OR I WILL PERSONALLY THROW ALL OF YOU OVERBOARD AND NOT LOOK BACK AS I LEAVE YOUR SORRY BUTTS AT SEA!!" He pulls out his sword to try and make his point clear and to show he means business |

A surprised silence ensues, and the chief says "thank you, Derik..." loudly with a tremendous cough before returning to his seat on the deck. He closes his eyes and attempts to focus and force the pain away. He can't do it. |

(sorry i've been gone... let's see, how to get my character into this...) (if you don't mind when they get to the island i'd like to introduce a human character?) Ika wakes up, stretching. "I can't believe I let myself fall asleep on the human ship...! Careless..." she mutters to herself. Her wings flare and her pupils shrink in alarm when she notices Hagan's pain. "What's going on?" |

hi im réka im developing a mildly unhealthy obsession with obiwan kenobi (more like obiwan kenoBAE am i right) my personal tumblr is ninja-stop im also writing a fantasy/humor novel called RESET which i won nanowrimo 2015 with i have a writing tumblr for it if you wanna check that out yeah thats it this probably isnt what should go in a signature but w/e i have 2 pet buns | |

(Feel free to! Just remember that the island is the home of Hagen and Derik.  )Everyone is so caught up in the panic that they take their time noticing Ika. No one pays her any attention, and, if Hagen notices, he doesn't respond, instead writhing slightly against the side of the ship. A soldier with a helmet covering his entire face kneels in front of his chief and takes his hand. Hagen starts to stutter and ask who the man is, but his eyes widen slowly as he recognizes the figure. He offers the soldier a genuine smile, whispers something to him, then coughs. A spew of red spills from his mouth onto the deck. "I'm afraid...that we won't make it...in time..." The soldier places an arm around his shoulders. |

Ika walks over to Hagan, nudging him in concern. "What's going on? Were you hurt when your ship sank?" (and here's my new charrie... Avalon, Viking female teen. she might not be rp'd for a bit, but im introing her now) Avalon stands on the dock, watching the ship arrive. Finally the warriors are back... but the fact that only one ship returned out of a whole fleet is very worrying. |

(Cool.  )Hagen grits his teeth in agony and turns that into a desperate smile. If he falls apart, then his men fall apart, and he will not have his last moments spent with disorder around him. "It has been...much longer...than that..." "Don't speak," the soldier begs him in a husky voice, but the chief still manages to fit in "...the battle..." before sitting quietly. |

The chief does his best to fulfill Derik's request. He does wish to see the land of his people again. "It is a wound," he replies weakly. "It...I...we were in the middle...of battle...of losing...and I could not give...give up simply because...a...a sword struck me. Everyone...would have been slaughtered...but...but if I...can provide hope...to others...through battle...through a storm...just by...being there...being a leader...then I had to...keep...keep..." His eyes roll back, and his body leans into the soldier as he falls limp. |
