[I'm HEREEEEE!!!!!!!] Vlad saw Hiccup and Meyla walking over to the arena and Gobber standing in the centre preparing to start the event. The spectators were also beginning to gather around. They all looked so well fed. He promised himself that Volt and him would have a feast after the day's events were through. He hefted his axe and walked over to Meyla and Hiccup with Volt at his side. "Good luck guys!" he told them cheerily. |

"Ah there you are" Hiccup nodded, "I guess we should get ready to start." He walked over and took his place by a barrel with an axe resting on it. |

Meyla beamed at Vlad, "you too!" She took her place as well, trying to focus. Could she really do this? It was a hard thing to think- everyone got three throws. The most accurate won. She began calculating in her head how to throw the axe, an unusual weapon in her hand. |

He sent Volt to sit with the other dragons and walked over to his barrels. Ruff and Tuff stood to his far left. They were both fighting over the bigger axe. He hoped the didn't hurt each other before the event began. He hefted his axe on his shoulder and waited for the event to begin. |

"Let's get started!" Gobber shouted. "Your job is to aim straight for the target on this barrel. Throw the axe at it. If more than one of you hit it, we move the target farther back untill only one of you can hit the target! Now go!" |

Meyla heard the loud horn blast and focused. Evey axe was only thrown one at a time, and right now the target was a mere ten feet away. She lifted the axe as she noticed a few others already fly in her line of vision. She took a breath and gripped the handle. With both hands she heaved and the axe spun int eh air before landing in the wooden barrel with a 'thunk'. She grinned and looked down the line to see how others had donee. Round two was coming up, and she was already impressed that she had stuck the target. |

Vlad heard the horn and threw his axe hard and straight. He smiled as it landed with a thunk directly where it was supposed to. He rubbed his shoulder. That was more taxing than he had expected. He hoped he could keep it up for the rest of the rounds. A few axes were on the floor around the barrel and one of the twins axes almost beheaded Silent Sven in the stands. He knew that two of those axes belonged to Meyla and Hiccup but he didn't see who had thrown the others. |

Meyla smiled over at Vlad, glad that he had made it to the next round. She stood next to him, "hey! Great throw!" She smiled. She wondered if they could keep it up, but doubted she'd beat Astrid in the slightest. |

Hiccup took his turn. He actually managed to hit the target this time. He was proud of himf. He'd practced more this year. He was happy to be moving onto the next round with his friends. (We need an Astrid and Fishlegs haha:) ) |
