Toothless

With a light pat on the head Hiccup got Toothless to fly after the mysterious thing. Maybe it was a dragon? or a type of bird, but birds would never steal sheep. "Come on bud let's go" He followed it closely, avoiding the others as they attempted to come help. Fishlegs and Meatlug tried to corner it but only to be knocked back by it as they tried to stop it. (no one seems to be taking on Meatluf/Fishlegs or Stormfly/Astrid and I've been falling in love with MEatlug beacuse she's adorable so untill someone fully claims her and Fishlegs I think I'll play them for a bit. Someone else could do the same with Astrid or she could be a shared character for now if wanted?) |

Vlad and Volt followed closely behind Toothless and he winced s bit as Fishlegs and Meatlug were knocked aside. He also watched as his cousins charged the beast using a fume bomb to try and knock it out of the sky. They only succeeded however in making it angry. Barf and Belch had used up all their smoke on it and flew away, now defenseless, with the twins on their necks screaming at them to bite it instead. What Vlad found weird was that the beast was nearly impossible to describe. It was like the longer he looked at it the less he could tell what it actually looked like. He wondered if the others were having the same problem. |

Hiccup looked over to already see Stoick mounting his dragon to join in helping the teens. "Odin's ghost!" He cried coming up beside his son, "What is that thing?" Hiccup shrugged "I was wondering the same thing." The strange dragon gave a hissing sound at the riders before swooping into the air again. A burst of fire came out from it's mouth before it flew off. A few houses caught on fire, Meatlug, with out even looking up at Fishlegs flew over to the water things to stop it from spreading down. Thankfully only a few roofs were burned just slightly. She even winced when she caught a glimps of Mildew shaking his head off to the side. (couldn't forget about him  )

Vlad watched as the Stoick joined them and a quick exchange passed between him and his on. He the looked on as the dragon nearly burned down a few houses then took off. Thankfully, Meatlug helped before things got too bad. He even saw Mildew but tried not to let the old man upset him. He could feel Volt tense underneath him, wanting very much to attack the dragon but he held him back. Volt rarely missed and he decided it would be better to wait a bit longer before making any hasty decisions. Maybe it was a new species and they could tame it. |

As much as he wanted to stay in the race, Hiccup wanted to chase after this new dragon. Or at least he hoped it was a dragon. As it was the race was prettu much ruined. He turned to look back at the others. He gave him a look asking if they should follow it. (I've been thinking maybe we could switch to one of the other threads for this part? like one of the islands listed in the Master Thread Andy made?) |

We could use our little 'plan' to stall for time until then.I'll get us started.] Vlad saw Hiccup look at him and nodded knowing exactly what he was thinking. It was then Vlad heard something he never thought he'd have the misfortune to hear in his life. It was a scream of fear. But that wasn't what was surprising. What was surprising was the seeming source of the sound. It was Astrid, and she sounded like she was in dire need of help. |

Hiccup froze when he heard the scream. His mind raced and before he could even react himself Toothless was already working on turning them around to find her. "Astrid!" Hiccup called searching everywhere for her. His mind was racing and he couldn't focus very well. He saw Stormfly flying in spot looking dazed and confused. She soon flew off following a dark figure on a dragon, that looked like it had spikes on it's wings and tail. He could see Astrid attempting to fight back. Only she seemed weaker than normal. Hiccup whistled and his Terror Sharpshot flew up. He pointed at the figure with Astrid and Shaprshot flew straight for them. He "buzzed" around the figure's head untill he or she dropped Astrid. Strangely enough Astrid had stopped fighting. Something was wrong and Hiccup was determined to save her. Stormfly went to catch her, only to be trapped in a net and taken down to the ground. Hiccup and Toothless raced to catch Astrid. They were just within arm's reach when the smaller of the two dragons flew in between them almost biting their hands off. "Nooo!!" Hiccup yelled as he watched the figure re-grab Astrid as they flew off in the smoke. He had just caught a glimpse of her lying unconscious. |

Vlad followed Hiccup but could only watch on helplessly as Astrid was taken away and Stormfly was taken down. If he had let Volt hit the dragon and rider he would also kill Astrid. He watched as the dragon flew off. He still couldn't describe it. He could just tell where it was, like a flying silhouette with it's masked rider on it's back. The only thing they could do now was pursue. He nudged Volt and pointed and they landed next to Stormfly. Vlad begun removing the net from on her. |

Hiccup stayed in the air. He tried to go through the smoke but it was too thick to breathe in. Toothless practically forced them to land. Hiccup sat with a shocked look on his face. He didn't know how to respond. Everyone around was quiet as he slowly got off Toothless' back. He pulled out his pocket knife and began to help cut the rope around Stormfly. The look never left his face and he never said anything. He couldn't help think of what might happen. He blamed himself for it. He felt worse than he did when Dagur kidnapped Stoick. Back then he was mad at Dagur. Now not only was he mad, he was concerned, and confused. Why take Astrid? |

Vlad saw the look on Hiccups face and decided it best to leave him to his thoughts for now. He directed his energy instead at comforting Stormfly, who was severely distressed. "Don't worry Stormfly," he mumbled, "We'll get her back, I promise." |
