Vlad turned the fish, scooted closer to Meyla, and began to read. As he read his facial expression slowly began to change from curiosity to shock. He finished reading the book in silence and closed the book, an ashen look on his face. The fish he had been roasting was now burnt to a crisp. There was a few seconds of awkward silence before he turned to Meyla and Kaida. He was glad he hadn't read it out loud. "Uhmmm Meyla I have something important to tell you." The book had been Meyla's mother's diary and there were a lot of things in it that he was sure not even Meyla knew. He wondered if every DragonWing from the war had left something behind on Berk. The rolled up parchment weighed heavily in his pocket but this was more important for now. He told her what he'd read. [I'm leaving it open for you Monica to put in whatever you want Vlad to tell Meyla from the diary  ]

"So?" Meyla turned to him curiously. "What does it say?" She tried to read his face, but it was a blank slate. "Something important... well... you can tell me anything you know." She smiled Then he told her, and she shook her head. "How do you know it's my mother? I don't remember my mother! And, and... that doesn't mean it was me in the story that she was referring to. You said that the woman lost a baby girl named Meyla- could be anybody!" She denied the facts and shook her head, mostly because she didn't WANT to believe what it said. "I... I grew up with my adopted parents sure, but... that doesn't mean anything, does it?" Her eyes grew wide, as she started to make sense of it. "Vlad, I'm scared. What if it is true? Maybe that Jay girl will know... she's the queen. Maybe she knew my mom." (just assuming Jay ain't in the journal) |

Vlad could tell she was scared. He put his arm around her and pulled her closer into a hug. He wrapped his wings around her protectively. No one would harm her while he was around. Volt looked on and smiled. "Don't worry Meyla, there's no need to be scared." he told her comfortingly "Everything will be okay. I'm right here for you." He hugged her even tighter. "I don't think Jay knows but we should tell her. She deserves that much." |

Hiccup led Jay to his house. His father wasn't home-again. Once inside Toothless waited patiently for fish. "Yes yes I know bud, you're hungry" Hiccup said placing the basket of fish in front of his friend. Toothless dug in right away. His tail wagging just slightly as he ate. "So, Jay what would you like to know?" Hiccup asked. |

Meyla sighed as she curled up into his chest. She didn't realize how good of friends her and Chase had become. She had just known him as the other wild dragon wing... perhaps someone to avoid, or trust really. But she had chosen trust. "I... I'm not hurt. I'm just confused." She paused for a moment. "Thank you Vlad. I guess we should ask her... we don't know for sure." She looked up at him. We can go tomorrow... if you'll come with me. I wouldn't come with me... I'm a mess." She chuckled. |

(Sorry ahead of time for my auto correct) Still wet from the fun Siren and her had earlier Shard lay on the ground watching the stars. There were no clouds in the sky, it was a clear night. Shard remembered her mom used to tell her stories that after each Dragonwing died they became one of the stars. They watched down on the world below. Shard sighed and rolled over looking at Siren, she should probably see if she could catch some food in the morning for the little guy so he wouldn't be hungry. (I am assuming its night) |

Vlad was glad it was night so Meyla could not see him blushing as she curled up on his chest. "Of course I'll go with you Meyla, " he told her "You're my uhm..........." he was unsure of what to say. "I uhm, I trust you.... a lot....you're my best friend, maybe even a little more.." He muttered the last part instantly regretted it. What if she only thought of him as a friend. What if she liked that Hiccup guy. He cursed mentally and continued the embrace. He did not want to be the first to let go as he enjoyed the moment. e looked at the cloudless, starry night sky and thanked the Ausras. Today had been a successful day and he was happy he had finally gotten it. He had the letter from his mother. [Don't forget Vlad wanted to tell Meyla so.ething as well ]

Meyla glanced up at him, hearing what he said but not understanding what he meant by it. She felt her eyelids grow weary, and she yawned but she kept herself awake. Maybe Jay could explain why there was a night fury dragon wing in this book. "Oh!" She remembered, "didn't you say you wanted to tell me something earlier? I still want to hear about the tour." |
