"Okay," he said "whatever you want." He reached over and using a stick, dimmed the flames until the embers gave of just a calming, low glow. Volt sensed they wanted to be alone and went into the tent to sleep. He then awkwardly shifted himself into a lying down position, his back cushioned by the cool, crisp grass. Meyla lay down as well, her head still on his chest. He gazed up at the stars. He was the msot comfortable he had ever been since coming to Berk. He wished it could be this way every night. Maybe it could be. All he had to do was ask Meyla to move into his clearing. He pushed the thought aside. He was content with what he had for now. "Beautiful aren't they?" he asked her quietly. |

Meyla lay back against the grass and looked up at the infinite stars. "Sometimes I wish I could fly there," she suddenly realized that she sounded like a girl... But she technically was one, and something about the peace in the moment made her not care. "They're too far away, but that's why I guess they reflect on water, so that we can at least try to reach them," she couldn't help but smile. She lay half on her side so her wings weren't crushed under her with her cheek on his chest as it rose and fell. "I wonder... If my moms out there somewhere. The one in the book. I never really knew her..." She realized she was rambling, "sorry," she was glad he couldn't see her reddening cheeks. |

He put his arm around her and pulled her closer. "I'm sure she is," he whispered to her "She's with the Ausras, looking down and smiling at the beautiful and strong daughter she had no choice but to leave behind." |

Meyla figured that what he said was true. Though she didn't know if her mom was dead- it was unsettling but then again, she had never known the woman. "And yours is watching out for you... I know you'll find your sister." She said, her voice low in almost a whisper. |

He wanted to say that's if she's still alive, but he perished the thought. They stared at the stars in quiet but enjoyable silence. They didn't need to talk. They just needed to be right where they were at that moment. He smiled quietly. |

Meyla sighed. "Guess we should get some sleep... looks like we have a busy day ahead of us." She looked up briefly to see his face and shot him a smile. |

He curled his arm and wing around her to keep her warm. "Nighty night," he said smiling down at her. He held her close until he was lost to sleep. |

(Time skiiipppppp) Meyla woke up and realized she was pressed against Vlad's side. She lifted her head a it and blinked awake. "Vlad? Hey Vlad... Time to get up," she rubbed her eyes. Kaida was snooping around, already up and raring to go. |

Vlad was surprised at first to hear Meyla's voice first thing in the morning but then he remembered last night and smiled. He loved the fact that her voice was the first thing he heard for the day. He sat up, stretched and yawned loudly. Volt was prowling the clearing with Kaida. "Mornin' Meyla. Mornin' Volt and Kaida!" he said sleepily rubbing his eyes. He stood up and stretched once more, reaching out his hand to help Meyla up. "Hey Meyla, before we get started on today's adventure I'd like to take you somewhere." |

Meyla took his hand, confused. "We have a lot to do today... but alright," she smiled. She was still amazed at how much she found she trusted him. But what was there not to trust? She stood up and Kaida came over. "Bout time you lovebirds woke up," Kaida said and poked her with her nose. "Oh hey umm... no, we..." she coughed and could tell her face was red. She smiled awkwardly up at him, and then nodded. "Alright," she smoothed out her clothes. |
