The boy looked up at Athena. He wondered if he really could stay here. If he stayed, he'd be homesick, but if he left he missed Toothless. Either way it wouldn't be the same. The boy pet Toothless's scales, gently, while he thought. |

Hiccup sat up from where he slept and slowly stood up. All he wanted to do was see Toothless. He walked out of his room and looked around the corner to see the dragons talking. Staying silent, he listened in to the conversation. |

"He's thinking about leaving. What should we do?" Athena's voice whispered. "Then don't let him. And I still don't think you should kill him, dear." Orion's voice answered. "He's tricking us. I'll do it painlessly." Athena's voice replied. Hiccup heard footsteps toward him, coming closer and closer. The figure stepped into the moonlight for a moment, and Hiccup was sure it was Athena. "I'm going back to sleep, sweetcake." whispered Orion, and went off. Athena pulled her paw to Hiccup's throat... |

The boy's eyes widened once he could feel the claws on his throat. He stayed there, silently almost as if frozen. Keeping his mouth shut, from fear that he'd make her angrier, he waited for her to speak first. |

"You. Are. Awake?" she growled, trying to control her temper. Athena furiously leaped off of Hiccup, and blasted fire bolts in all directions. She scratched the walls, then put her head in her paws. After a moment, her unstable voice said softly, "I don't want to kill you, really. It's my father." |

"He's a horrible dragon. Last night he told me to kill you. I stood up to him, and now I don't think I'll ever fly again." Athena whispered, and a tear rolled down her cheek. Hiccup knew how horrible it was for dragons to loose their flight, from experience with Toothless. |
