Anyone up for a RP? I'm open to suggestions about plot and characters. I'm cool with a crossover, dusting off some OCs, whatever. (I just miss RPing, but I don't really know what it should be about, so let's see what—if anything—happens here.)

I am! But yeah, the "what" and "who" are a little nebulous. Personally, I'd prefer a non-crossover. My other preferences include:
  • No magic
  • No humans understanding Dragoneese (I'm fine with having a good grasp on body language, though.)
  • No dragons speaking Norse. Edit: Or actually, speaking at all. :P
  • No fan Furies (That said, a couple other Night Furies or even a few Light Furies would be fine.)
I might be willing to forego a couple of those preferences, depending. We'll see.

As for when, I think mid-RTTE is about the most interesting part of Dragons history, so that would be my vote. Alternately, if we just wanted to dive in, I have a good start I've used a few times now that seems to work well. It sets the time much later, though; about 30 years post-HTTYD2. I'm open to other ideas, though. :)

I'm cool with those preferences. The main reason I said crossover is because I haven't been watching a lot of HTTYD recently, and my brain's focused on other media, but, yeah, crossovers can get kinda crazy.

Mid-RTTE sounds fun. I might be able to update my OCs and fit them in. Or at least Cadell. Upon skimming the old RP, Ottar was getting on my nerves, so I don't know if I want to deal with him. :P

We could do a relatively simple plot to start out with like a mission to recover some captured dragons and see where things go from there or something.

Makes sense. And yeah, that could work. Or, if we wanted to shift time a little forward, we could perhaps investigate my headcanon that Viggo survived and was carried to Caldera Cay for healing by his Skrill. Not sure if that would be interesting enough down the road, though, to keep a roleplay going. Another possibility is the original premise of my thread on that roleplaying forum I linked you to on the Dragon Chat: A group of Dragon Riders fly a mission to check up on the Defenders of the Wing, and arriving, find them under attack by the Dragon Hunters/Fliers, so they help deal with that and with the after-battle fallout, whatever that might entail. (I specify "original" because in my imagination and yes, I do sometimes go on imaginary adventures with the other Dragon Riders :P , it took place during mid-RTTE, but I had to make changes to fit with DR:ANA's timeline.)

We could do the Defenders of the Wing thing and make it RTTE timeline instead of in the future. (I should say, forgive me if I'm rusty on my RTTE knowledge, though. It's been years since I watched it. :$ )

I honestly kind of doubt there'll be anyone else. (If anyone wants to, though, please do join!) I'd say we can start figuring out who wants to be who and then if there are other people, we can transfer some characters over to them or they can add their own.

Sounds good! I'll certainly be playing as my standard shameless self-insert, though I have grown emotionally (and probably physically, too :P ) since I first created him, so we're now slightly different people OC, Javon with Firelash. Are we also using canon characters?

We can choose canon characters too. If we really want to lessen the cast later or something, I’m sure we can find an excuse to get rid of some people. :P However, if we want to keep it small, we can just do the Defenders of the Wing characters we need for now.

I’m working on digging Cadell out of his grave and fixing him up. I was also thinking if I really want to be a character that already exists in different media (I have one in mind), I can make an AU version that fits with the HTTYD lore.

Alright. Or we could simply not take exclusive control of the canon Riders, and just play for them as needed? But yeah, one of us should probably be Mala and the other Throk. ;)
