I did not like Alvin as a villain that much. I didn`t quite understand what he was driven by. I`m sure Drago will be a more detailed villain, with a deeper and darker backstory. Drago has also by force turned the Bewilderbeast into a warmachine, which is pretty cruel. And he also have a much bigger goal than Alvin.

In my opinion, Drago seems like he's going to be a great villain, and he seems a lot more capable of getting what he wants than Alvin or Dagur. I mean, he already made a Dragon Army, and if my suspicions are correct, I think Toothless will get captured by him at some point.
Capturing Toothless isn't exactly difficult, and Alvin managed to do it on one occasion. Heck, Mildew managed to do it on one occasion (okay, so he was leading the people of Berk in that effort, but hey, the other villains had their armies as well).

I also heard that some weedy Viking teenager with no fighting ability managed to capture Toothless, but I'm sure the person was just making that up.
Number of times I've watched the trailer: 18.

My pet peeve: people who refer to complete strangers by their first name. The correct ways to refer to a "John Smith" whom you have never met are Smith, Mr Smith, or John Smith. Not "John". He's not your buddy.

Hold your horses guys, we haven't even properly met Drago yet. We'll only find out the whole truth about him in the third movie (I have a feeling that we will anyway, I don't think Drago is just evil full stop. I think that something has caused it, a past event, beliefs are childhood maybe. I think it will be explained in the third movie if not the second)

We won't know for sure about Drago for a couple more weeks, but the early indications make him a clearly better villain than Alvin in my opinion. Alvin was too much of a buffoon from the outset for me to seriously think he was scary, then he just turned into a stereotypical villain of a cartoon TV show who is outwitted by the heroes repeatedly but keeps coming back for more. Drago looks like he has the potential to be darker and more serious.
I agree with both of you. ;) And I think the thing that caused Drago to be evil was
