All I can say is that I think I prefer her look in the first movie to this one, but I won't really decide til I see the whole film. |

What bugs me, (the only thing that does) is her new look. She looks like a Barbie doll now. But I agree with everything KentuckyWildcat siad. ![]() |

Pretty much this. Though like Shnuckles, I'll wait until I've seen the actual film before I make any real judgements. |

I hope the film will still have her getting angry and violent occasionally cause I found that to be one of the reasons I liked her so much |

I think for some it would be hard to see her softer side, but because it is Astrid I do understand where this side comes from. I mean a person has different sides, some only appear when they are with certain persons and I think this happens to her, she shows her most vulnerable side when she's with hiccup but i have my doubts she will be like that around the others. That being said, I do still see her like someone that will speak her mind and that won't take anyone's bull***t even if it comes from hiccup. The only thing that bothers me to no end is something that she will do/say in the movie. I won't reveal it, but it's something that I don't believe goes with her personality. While I do understand why the creators decided to make her do that, I'm afraid it can be taken in 2 different ways, one way more acceptable than the other. I guess my biggest fear is to see the fandom hate her because of this, and honestly they won't be wrong to dislike her for this. Personally I see this action as something out of character for her, but at the same time I'm not the creator so perhaps my interpretation is the one out of character. For now I will have to wait for the rest of the fandom to watch the film and see their reactions. |

"There's something you must remember when riding a dragon. There's no manual, no safety harness, no guarantees when you're on one of these beasts. All you have is the wind in your hair, and the clothes on your back. The only thing between you and that dragon is your saddle. You need to hold onto it for dear life, as that creature takes you the skies. That, is dragon riding." | |

yeah, i don't really see that much of a difference in character from the 1st movie to second except for the maturity. Kentucky wildcat said pretty much what i was thinking. She is an extremely competitive person and she hates to be beaten. A lot of her anger in the first movie stemmed from hiccups nonchalant attitude towards dragon killing. Then when he became the best she was furious because she had trained so hard and hiccup had through her eyes done nothing. He was lazy and somehow better than her which was maddening. It wasn't until she rode on toothless that she wasn't angry anymore because 1 she was at ease knowing he wasn't actually better than her at killing, in fact he couldn't, and 2, new possibilities were ahead. So now her competitive nature has carried over into the dragon riding field. I also remember her being most eager to ride and show the others how with hiccup in the first movie. She is very adaptable and understanding once she has an answer. |

I'm not sure yet. I don't think we've seen enough to know for sure how much she's changed. Granted though based on some of the stuff we've seen so far, especially the Eret clip, she does seem different. |

I think Astrid was a more violent and direct person because when snot would make a joke about her she wouldn't hesitate to punch him in the stomach. She was always down to business also. I just hope they don't change that I mean they can make her ease up on the violence but not completely forget about it |
