Spoiler: click to toggle To be honest, I'll be disappointed if that's all that ends up happening after all the hype about how dark and emotional things would get this time around. Maybe there will be some more twists though.

Come death. Come suffering. I will not live in fear. In this fleeting life where time escapes us, the path of least resistance is a slow quiet death. I'd rather burn out than fade away.

Saw that coming a mile away. There are three potential problems with it that I can see:
Spoiler: click to toggle 1. How the heck is Drago supposed to be physically able to ride Toothless? The current harness is designed so that only Hiccup can use it, since it requires locking his prosthetic into one side in order to operate the prosthetic tail fin. So how does Drago pull it off? Unless he just rides Toothless on the ground, but that seems like rather a waste of having an army of dragons, unless he's afraid of heights or something.
2. This better not be the supposed test of Hiccup and Toothless' friendship, because in all honesty,it doesn't test their friendship. Obvious brainwashing is obvious, so this is less a case of testing their friendship and more of a case of "how do we snap him out of it?" (and I swear, if that involves something as trite as hugging him, then I will be very tempted to throw something at the screen). Actual conflict between non-brainwashed characters is how you test friendship. Brainwashing simply doesn't fulfil the necessary criteria, though it certainly can be dramatic in its own right.
3. Once again, Toothless is everyone's bitch. So far, his total contribution to the film seems to be negative.

Kudos for doing something I didn't see coming, though I don't see why the audience should care.
Spoiler: click to toggle Still, if it makes Valka suffer, then I suppose there's something to be said for a happy ending.

Number of times I've watched the trailer: 18.
My pet peeve: people who refer to complete strangers by their first name. The correct ways to refer to a "John Smith" whom you have never met are Smith, Mr Smith, or John Smith. Not "John". He's not your buddy.

Spoiler: click to toggle Yeah I don't know how he could ride him just it looked like it in a storyboard and confirmed it in some writing at least that the Bewilderbeast takes control of him. Though I'm wondering why the heck DW thinks that is a "test of friendship". And I like you're thinking on Valka. I don't like that she abandoned them either so she should suffer.

Spoiler: click to toggle Someone posted some storyboards from the artbook that was supposed to be from Toothless' POV and the text said that the Bewilderbeast's mind control had something to do with altering what a dragon sees. I guess that explains why Toothless was blindfolded in one of the trailer scenes.

I don't doubt the accuracy of what you've said, though I don't recall seeing it in the scanned pages (though it's doubtful that the person would have included everything even if we assume that I didn't accidentally miss it).
Spoiler: click to toggle Regarding Valka, I don't actually hold the whole abandonment thing against her as such (though someone should call her out on it, since that it kind of how human beings would react). She had a choice between her family or dragons, and in all honesty, she probably made the right one - the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, and all that. No, I just have many other problems with her, not least of which is the fact that she kidnapped Hiccup for no good reason.

I don't think that's going to be all of it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there talk a while back about part of the soundtrack being named "Hiccup's Sorrow" or something like that? I don't think something happening to that particular character would warrant an entire musical part of the soundtrack being named that. I think someone bigger is going to go, personally. Or something more serious is going to happen at least.
