Sorry, that was my bad. It has now been marked with a spoiler tag. My apologies to anyone who read that without knowing, but rest assured, it is something that the movie actually shows coming (to its credit, more effectively than I thought it would), so it hopefully won't ruin anyone's experience. |
Number of times I've watched the trailer: 18. My pet peeve: people who refer to complete strangers by their first name. The correct ways to refer to a "John Smith" whom you have never met are Smith, Mr Smith, or John Smith. Not "John". He's not your buddy.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I've listened to some of the soundtrack and I'm rather fond of it. ![]() |

@CartoonFreak, I know it's your own opinion, but how can you not like that song?! ![]() |

It elicited no emotional response beyond "Hurry up and finish so we can get back to the plot" (I would need to watch the movie again to be sure, but I'm pretty sure you could cut the song out and not lose anything that wasn't shown better in other scenes), and the song is so unmemorable that I literally can't remember any of it, save that Gobber interrupted at some point. I could go on, but I do need to get to bed now, so I think I've left enough to explain why, at the very least, I hate it. But hey, maybe if you can explain to me what is good about the song, it might at least raise my opinion of it beyond "remove and/or skip whenever possible." |

Note for Cartoon Freak
I loved the first time I heard it. I thought, finally I had a song that I could actually sing (badly or not) from HTTYD that wasn't Jonsi's falsetto voice. I'm not saying I prefer "For the Dancing and the Dreaming" to the other songs on the soundtrack or to the first movie's soundtrack but a song with words that I can sing and not just hum? I'll take it!I can't comment on whether I thought it fits the movie yet cause I haven't seen it yet. I hope it fits for me. I think it captures the love of Stoick and Valka reuniting after 20 years with a Viking style very nicely. But hey, what do I know. |
I challenge you to be lazier than me! Sub me. Sub me. Sub me. Sub me. Sub me. Sub me. Sub me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Honestly, when it comes to the music itself, it's hardly my area of expertise, so hey, maybe there is something there that I just don't see (well, hear). I will say that I have many problems with the song's place in the movie, and why, even if you don't see these problems, other scenes make the same point as the song more effectively and a lot more quickly (as cheesy and nonsensical as those other bits are, at least they're short), but here is not the best place to discuss it, because spoilers and all. |

I really doubt that. From a technical POV this is the worst song I've ever listen to. The sound mixing is on the niveau of a teeny rockband ("Make me louder!","No, make me louder.", "And me, too."). I've mentioned that before in another topic: Spoiler: click to toggle

I agree with Zer0x. It really loud and I think my headphone speakers are closer to breaking now. It is obnoxious in the sense that the basses thump away in my ears and it hurt listening to it. The song fits the setting, but it's H*** on the ears through headphone which is all I have to listen to things. |
"can you hear the birds sing? saying go the f*** to sleep (to the sound of les mis)" Spoiler: click to toggle
