^ thats what I was thinking, I remember dean saying hiccup might get it so I think he'd be the most obvious victim. which would suck for him now that he's chief. but I want somebody to get it at least, just because I think the slavemark is a really cool idea. i don't know why they'd introduce Eret's scar and then never bring it up again.
Or Drago could give it to someone Hiccup cares about and finally send Hiccup over the edge emotionally.

Would probably have to be Astrid/Valka/Toothless, right? Can't see anyone else breaking him quite like those three. Maybe Gobber?

I could see it breaking him if any of them got it. Astrid well cuz she's his best human friend and girlfriend, Valka because she's the only human family he has left connecting him to Stoick, Toothless because the're best friends, and Gobber because Gobber was like a 2nd father/uncle to Hiccup.
More than just those reasons these 4 are Hiccup's family, even if Fishlegs, Snotlout or the twins got it i can see Hiccup being hurt by it because they are his family and well, they all mean a lot to him.

After watching the movie, I think it's just a cruel punishment he gave him.
"There's something you must remember when riding a dragon. There's no manual, no safety harness, no guarantees when you're on one of these beasts. Well yeah, its clearly a cruel punishment, but it might be more than just a random meaningless branding.

I hope there is, even if its not a slavemark, I hope it does come up again. It was a very interesting way to convey how cruel drago is using the whole "show don't tell" method, and it would be a shame if they didn't develop it further.

Especially since we all are given this sense that Eret doesn't want to really work for Drago but instead he fears him enough to not question NOT working for Drago.

I think it was just a normal scar, but it's an interesting theory. I really hope Hiccup gets the slavemark in book 3. 1. It's cool and 2. A nod to the books.

He does get it in the books? I have no idea what you are saying, because he does get it.
i'm not very active anymore!! it's sad, but i'll come back sometimes to feel nostalgic ahaha
