One can always genderbend one of them. ;)
I could see Cloudjumper as a female too, seeing him playing and gentle nature towards baby Hiccup reminds me of a mom (not saying dads can't play with their kids)!

Ya I actually thought cloud jumper was a girl until Valka say "he". So I could definitely see it.

You can still ship it when both are male... (or if both were female, ya know).

I think Cloudjumper/Toothless is cute too, and I always assumed both are male. What kind of stopped me was how much older Cloudjumper must be than Toothless (though who knows what the dragon lifespans are and how much of a difference that makes).
