Can I just say, I don't care what source you got that spoiler off of. I don't care is Dean told you himself.
Nothing is confirmed until we see the movie
Thank you, someone with logic.

I agree, no more spoilers about the movie. But if stoick dose die it wouldn't surpries me, I mean I can see something like the Lion King, when Simba takes his rightful place as king, Hiccup will take his rightful place as chief of Berk. :D ^_^ :O

I agree. Lots of books/movies have characters that die in it. Um let's see here's just a few

HUNGER GAMES -Rue, Finnick, PRIM All those others who didn't get out of the arena, did I mention PRIM? (admit it you all cried)
Lion King-Mufasa
Bambi-Bambi's Mother
Land Before Time -Littlefoot's Mother
Frozen-both parents, and Anna breifly when she froze.
Brother Bear-the oldest Brother and Koda's mother.
Tarzan-his human parents, Kercheck,
Little Mermaid 3 -Ariel's mother
Lilo and Stitch-Lilo's Parents-yes we didn't see them die but it was one of the biggest things since it was set up like it had just happened shortely before Stitch came along.

see aside Hunger Games being a teen movie,
lots of movies that are aimed at kids have deaths in them

i dont think my avatar is working but ehh

We all die eventually. No biggie.

Why people are against Stoick's death is... unexplainable? I actually want to see Stoick dying in the second movie.... It's more dramatic, and plus, deaths are coooool.
i'm not very active anymore!! it's sad, but i'll come back sometimes to feel nostalgic ahaha

I understand both sides,
my friend and I were talking about this the other day
We both want Stoick to die because it creates more character for Hiccup, we want to see him as Chief, and having to take on it so suddenly because of his father's death

but at the same time we don't want him to die because he just found Valka and him dying after all that would be sad

I'm almost sure, that this is not about death, but about dying. I don't like "modern" books and movies just because authors like to show us a fearsome, brutal and painful death. And for me it is not a surprise, that people don't want Stoick's death - they're scared, that his death will be in "GoT-Style". I can agree with that - i HATE how people dies in GoT. There is enough "common" deaths in real life - i think about painful and awful death.
When i'm coming to the world in books or movies i like to see brave death - especially for most important characters in the story. It is in opposite for sad life, but always gives me a courage.

Well, no death in HTTYD is going to be as overtly violent as any death in Game of Thrones, because the former is PG, while the latter is MA (adjust ratings as appropriate for countries outside of Australia). You tend to shoot around the blood and gore in children's films.
Number of times I've watched the trailer: 18.

My pet peeve: people who refer to complete strangers by their first name. The correct ways to refer to a "John Smith" whom you have never met are Smith, Mr Smith, or John Smith. Not "John". He's not your buddy.
