Anyone know what the 3rd Jonsi song is? I know about “Where No One Goes” and that he wrote the melody for “The Dancing and The Dreaming”…

The only songs that sound like they are out of the first film is the Battle of the Bewilderbeast, and Dragon Races. They have similar themes which is just common sense in the music world for writing for a sequel. Other than that, there's almost no similarity aside from the basic theme riff.
I don't know if I would have even recognized quite a few of the tracks as something out of HTTYD if I hadn't known better.

I listened to them again and I'm now noticing the different parts and in my opinion the most different one is Toothless Found (Track 17).

Have you listened to the whole thing? I think two of the most different ones are track 10 and track 13, especially the second half of 13. they use old themes but just the overall sound is completely different... I don't have the musical vocabulary to be more specific so forgive me for not making a lot of sense here -_-

I'm not saying this is a bad thing btw, again I think this score is every bit as fantastic as the original..

Unfortunately I can't listen to the whole thing loud enough since my mother HATES instrumentals but I have gotten the gist of most of them. Though I think "Two New Alphas" is way to "Counter Attack" like for my tastes. Then again "Counter Attack" is my favorite of the soundtrack from HTTYD and hearing it like that was really weird.

Not to sure about the soundtrack... To me it's just a remix of the orignial and I don't really want to buy it now... :-/
It is normal for sequels that the themes have the same melody, but with different instruments or played in another way. It would sound alianated when you see Toothless and Hiccup flying and the theme is completly different from the first movie.
Stick to a theme for a particular situation, feeling, character, etc. is the best you can do in movie scores.

Is it just me or when everytime I hear Romantic Flight-theme in any score, I can count on a Hiccup/Astrid moment?

I think the soundtrack is phenomenal. It strayed from the original score and is its own entity. Five years later, we have a different story so we sort of need a different score. At least, that's how I view it.

Uff da, yo.
