LOL it's the complete opposite for me. I LOVED his shout at the end!  It showed just how proud he was about being able to say "We have Dragons!", because not everyone can say that they're at peace with dragons.- There was a deleted scene where Hiccup shows Astrid Inferno for the first time I would have partly wanted that to be in the film. Only partly because in the film it shows that he's had it for a while, and it might seem a bit weird. I hope they feature that scene in the series or the short

I watched it again, I really wish there was more of Eret after his attitude change aside from his occasional one-liners. I don't know if it's me picking up on wrong things but he goes pretty quiet ever since the change, not saying I would want constant yapping but a little more inclusion above the background anims and occasional fight scenes would be on my list. That and I see about the ending, I wish there was some other way that Toothless would go super alpha mode other than inexplicably blocking the ice attack. It sounds harsh (and correct me if I'm wrong here), but I thought that it was a pretty cheap way to display power when the ice blast should clearly have done way more damage than it did. Even when the ice is exploded, surely there should've been some damage to surrounding objects, I mean there's high speed flying ice shards...  I also thought it was kind of annoying that Hiccup and Toothless weren't really playing tactically as they had in other (even less threatening) situations. I'm sure that it would've been more impressive to see some kind of attack thought out separating (and possibly singling-out/outplaying) Drago from the bewilderbeast, or even using the environment or something more to their advantage. I know it was an important factor to bring Toothless into the super alpha mode for the grand setup, but I wish it was done differently somehow including something like these. Putting it simply, I wanted more than <charge charge charge, survive massive ice attack, become invincible super mega dragon mode extreme, win with more charging>. I did, however, like the endless waves of fire provided by the other dragons at the end, it made sense for a win; and I'm obviously not the best person to come up with a grand story for this stuff but I just wish there was more.

Yes, I also thought the final battle was over to fast and Toothless going into Alpha mode suddenly was a bit cheap compared to the first movie. In the first movie they have a great plan: Make the Red Death fly, then blast its wings, make it dive afterwards and shoot fire into its mouth so it crash-lands and explodes. That was a great final battle. |
