You know, I've seen G-rated movies that could show some blood (The Lion King and The Land Before Time come to mind). One would think a PG-rated movie could still get away with some, and it only needs to be some to make the point. |
Number of times I've watched the trailer: 18. My pet peeve: people who refer to complete strangers by their first name. The correct ways to refer to a "John Smith" whom you have never met are Smith, Mr Smith, or John Smith. Not "John". He's not your buddy. | |

lion king didn't show blood. Scar's well scar had no blood. It was only pink and faded as an old scar. . There was no blood when Mufasa (is it sad that I hear this in the Heyena's voices?) died. and when Littlefoot's mother died same thing. No blood just a pink scar. I understand there being a scar, but I don't like the fact that almost everyone thinks an animated movie should have blood in it. |

Those scars in The Land Before Time are pretty clearly red, indicating fresh blood. As for The Lion King, there's a bit where young Simba scratches Shenzi (probably spelled incorrectly), drawing blood. |

It's still not blood on something dead. Littlefoot's mother was still alive and by the time she'd died they'd moved away from it. and the Heyena was very well alive. I just don't feel that animated movies need to show blood on something dead. |

What's the difference? Blood is blood, and dead is dead. For that matter, I for one was mostly wanting blood on the tusks of Drago's Bewilderbeast, since you can probably hand wave the lack of blood on Valka's Bewilderbeast as a matter of camera angles and the like. |

Children shouldn't be traumatized by blood on tusks. That's a lame excuse for not putting blood in a super obvious part where blood is needed. |

Excuse me have either you ever lost your older brother or any family member or pet to death? Has it effected you to the point that blood on dead things in movies cartoon or not bothers you? it is not a lame excuse. Any child who has lost a family member or a pet at a young age (lets say 4 like what happened for me) would be bothered by blood in a cartoon on a dead thing or on the thing that killed it. now sorry for sounding rude if i did there but death and blood are actually pretty serious and can be tramatuizing to kids. It's not just me who thinks this. I know lots of people who would agree. death can tramatuize children. seeing blood on something dead or the thing that killed it can hurt them even more (Believe me I know. ) I just think blood on the tusks would've ruined it. Blood in things too much these days and while yes I know it's a part of life it shouldn't be in every single movie out there. the little girl in front of me was bawling her eyes out during this movie. She was so upset her mother was holding her. between Valka's alpha dying, Stoick dying and Hicucp pushing Toothless away and yelling at him, she was pretty upset. Blood would've made it that much worse for her. |

I don't understand why anyone would be horrified by a natural thing like blood. Yeah it might have been a little describive with blood on tusks but COME ON. People seem to be fine watching war movies or other movies with blood so I have no idea why blood, aimated blood of all things, should cause trauma. It's ridiclous. |

War movies also happen to be not rated PG. We also have to consider: How much blood to imply death? If we consider the tusk is like a sword, usually what Hollywood likes to do is have blood dripping a bit. That's kind of gruesome (I'm not childish -- I've watched some of the most disturbing films without being disturbed. It's just that I am aware of disturbing things when I see it). I would also like to say the first film did not contain blood from the loss of the left leg, or the mauling of the left tail. Soooooooooooooooooooooo |

Oh vay. Fine I will drop it. Sheesh. I just would have liked a little bit of realism with that shot. Gods. |
