Sure, and your mom giving a quick nondescript answer would not be the end of the world or the end of your brothers innocence and childhood, or any other kids. Contrary to popular belief, kids aren't born bigots, they're taught, often by parents who act like being gay is such a horrible secret they can't talk about in the first place.

Reading a quote like that, anyone unaware would question the meaning. But in the middle of an hour long film? 90% would've forgotten about the line in 10 minutes time.

I just always wished that they would never put anything like that in the Dragons movie(s). I always thought it was going to be a movie for people of all ages to enjoy, and keep it innocent, fun, and make adults feel like they're kids again.

Sooo... Homosexuality isn't innocent? And that adding such a minor detail, that doesn't detract from the world, but in fact adds to it by showing that it's common in all societies, ruins the film?

Kind of ironic that we're all here to celebrate a film about not hating what you don't understand and accepting those who are different from us, yet here we are, arguing about whether or not the franchise has been ruined because they decided to show a little diversity.

I personally am not arguing. I believe everyone has a right to their own opinions, even if I think those people are wrong. I still respect them. I have a gay best friend, my mom's longtime best friend is a lesbian, and (surprise!) I myself have had a few girlfriends. So I don't see the big deal. Dad gave me the hetero and homo sex talk. To me it's normal. So that's why I am open about it. Like someone said earlier, it is how the child is raised.

That kind of openness and acceptance is exactly what the movie was about, I'm referring to the people (you know who you are) who have been saying things like "I don't believe in being gay", "I don't agree with gay people", "I'm going to pray harder for gay people because they need it", "This is not something that belongs in a childrens film", etc etc etc. Like... Did you even WATCH the first movie? Because, yikes.... you seriously missed the point, big time.


inb4 somebody tells me I'm a hypocrite because I'm oppressing their right to be a homophobe.
