Am I the only one that thinks Dreamworks is making us feel all warm and fuzzy with the Haddock family reunion and then they are going to kill Stoick or Valka? Cause I can see Stoick dying, hiccup becoming the new chief and Valka saying to hiccup she's not going back to berk and stays with the dragons. |

Haha yeah. The instant all the Stalka stuff was happening I knew, I just KNEW that somebody (hem hem Stoick) would most likely die. EDIT: Oh hi Kris0ten! But we fans LOVE that it was leaked early. We just love you guys for this. |

I've had a gut feeling that Valka is going to die for some time now. I don't know exactly why that is, but she just seems like someone destined to be a tragic character to me. Stoick I'm not sure about. I still don't feel like he's as likely to die as Valka, but after seeing the new trailer, I do concede that the possibility of him dying for his reunited family exists. |

The trailer is simply phenomenal! It's nice to get a sneak peek of the more dramatic scenes, like the reunion and the battle. I can't help but wonder, what will happen to Drago and the Bewilderbeasts in the end? And what about Stoick and Valka? I feel that if Valka dies, the story doesn't progress, but if Stoick dies, then Hiccup will be forced to be chief and Valka might not necessarily help him out. Also, I seem to recall someone mentioning tension between Hiccup and Toothless playing into the plot -- does Toothless get captured by Drago perhaps? |

My only complaint about this gorgeous and exhilarating trailer is that it reveals the whole movie in a span of 2 minutes and about thirty seconds. I'm sure most of us remember how Avatar's trailer went when they revealed a good chunk of the movie's plot to us, the movie was practically spoiled (but one cannot forget how beautiful and awesome that movie was, however). However this problem I have doesn't ruin the movie for me, or many others I'm sure. In fact, if anything it makes me more excited and hyped up, especially with perfect fitting songs--Go Do by Jónsi and Kings and Queens by 30 Seconds to Mars, which stole the show for me and made my stomach churn and knot itself, or in other words, have butterflies. The movie would be better built up and less spoiled, for lack of a better word, if the trailers had only hinted at the major points within the movie instead of shouting them out in the second trailer. But it is what is and besides, we haven't even heard a bit of the soundtrack Powell's got waiting for us, or how all these events happen the way they do, and of course the adorable Toothless along with his pal Hiccup whom have quite a journey ahead of them. But this is just my 2 cents. |

The idea that Stoick could be the one who dies has been pretty feasible for awhile in my opinion.I don't think this trailer made it any more possible than it already was really. But I agree my pick has always been Valka. Since as you said she just feels like more of a tragic character. I also am going to put forward (as a theory) though that she will more than likely die protecting the very thing she ("possibly" since this isn't really anything proving this and it's more just me.) choose to walk away from so many years ago. |
