So here is what she said (rough translation): How was it to play Astrid again? Actually it wasn't a big pause since the first movie because I play Astrid on the tv show. Somehow I could stay in character and it has been a pretty consistent journey with Astrid. But yes it was fun to play her again with the subtle changes she has been through in the 5 years, like the story shows us. What kind of changes Astrid has, compared to the frst movie? I think we can now see a more vulnerable side because of her relationship with Hiccup has started to be more romantic. They don't compete against each other that much anymore, like in the 1st movie. She has turned in someone more adventurous and full of challenges, but her relationship with Hiccup is more open and emotional. How to you think the 2nd movie outstands the 1st? The animation is more beautiful and realistic. It's wonderful to see! And regarding the plot, because the characters are aging, the story becomes more mature. The movie goes deeper in its world and there is more challenges to go through than in the 1st movie, which didn't sound possible, but somehow they made it! What kind of challenges Astrid confronts in this new adventure? Hiccup goes to his own adventure, so Astrid needs to take the leader role among the dragon trainers. She confronts new enemies and gets to meet other characters that will challenge her life style and routine. What was the best part of being the voice of Astrid this time? I got the chance to work with Kit Harrington, who plays the new character Eret son of Eret. Not a long time ago I became a huge fan of "Games of Thrones", where he plays, and I got to record a couple of scenes with him, it was quite cool. What kind of dragon would you have? A golden retriever dragon! Any last message to our latin community about httyd2? I love playing Astrid because she is a strong and determined girl who takes control over things. I just simply love all the girls and women of this story. I'm glad that even though Astrid's "weak spot" is exposed due to her relationship with Hiccup, she's still gonna be the old awesome badass girl she was. I know a lot of people had feared that she'd change, but looking at the racing and eret clips, there's no need to worry! xD I also like how she'll have to take charge of the other riders during anytime of Hiccup's unattendance, to develop her leader side which was remote before in the past. Go Girl-Power! And having leader qualities as your bf does, she'll be an even awesomer wife to Hiccup ;D |

It's hard to choose who your favorite character is. Each one has an awesome and unique personality it's actually surprising. This interview just shows how much they put into a single character, even if the person talking only voice acts that character. Thanks for posting! |
