1: They both have lost limbs. Drago lost his hand, presumably by trying to control a dragon, but Hiccup lost his leg for a different reason. 2. They can both control/tame dragons. Hiccup does it in a 'good' way, and Drago does it in a 'bad' way. Hiccup doesn't use the dragons for evil purposes, though. 3. They have items that help them do so. Hiccup's sword, Inferno, can control dragons, because it makes the dragons mistake the sword for one of their own kind. He also uses the power of trust. Drago uses the power of fear, and his Bewilderbeast. He also uses his fireproof cape to control them too, in the same way that Hiccup does: the dragons see Drago as one of their own, as he possesses one of their similarities. Have you noticed any other similarities, and do you think that these are good ones? ![]() |

I think that Drago represents what hiccup could become. Valka does also. Hiccup is at a crossroads in life, if he goes takes his dragons skills too much in one direction, he could become a feral antisocial dragon master that has forgotten about his human family. Valka represents that path. However, he could take his dragons skills somewhere else, become more powerful and instead of abandoning humans, he could control them. Drago represents that path. I bet that Drago will try and convince hiccup to join him, to lead him down the path of power and evil. Maybe even valka, will try and convince hiccup to join her. But, hopefully, hiccup will create his own, new path to follow. this is all speculation though... |

He watched all the films when he decided to make HTTYD 2. There's going to be a lot of references. Luckily I have my dad to help spot them... |

I`m starting to worry it will be to many references. One reason httyd was such a great film was because it had some original twists and turns. This storyline seem to heavily influenced by "The Empire Strikes Back". I do think as mentioned above that Hiccup will be tempted to join one of the sides, but then finds his own. As much similarities there are between caracthers in this film I think there mostly will be contrasts ![]() |

That was my original fear too, but looking back at reviews and a few massive spoilers, I think we won't need to be worried about the film copying SW. |
