Escaped from an asylem

I noticed some references when Hiccup was flying around with Valka. If you re-watch the scene in the first film when Hiccup is first training Toothless(applying what he learned from Toothy to the other dragons in the arena), and you'll notice it. |
"There's something you must remember when riding a dragon. There's no manual, no safety harness, no guarantees when you're on one of these beasts. All you have is the wind in your hair, and the clothes on your back. The only thing between you and that dragon is your saddle. You need to hold onto it for dear life, as that creature takes you the skies. That, is dragon riding." | |

Come on people! Hiccstrid scene! No one noticed that? Except this time, it was Hiccup who acted first. Still in front of the whole village. |

It seemed to me in the flashback when Valka goes to protect Hiccup, she holds her sword to Cloudjumper in much the same way that Hiccup did with his dagger to Toothless when he found him in the woods |

I think Astrid kidnapping Eret is a gag on Hiccup kidnapping Astrid in the first film. Maybe that's were "works everytime" bit refers too. I could be over thinking it though. |

Surprised no one brought this one up yet, but when Fishlegs nearly gets blasted by The Alpha, he says "I'm OK!", just like the first movie before Meatlug falls on him. I was honestly waiting for him to say "Less OK..." |

This isn't a reference to the first one, but to Gift of the Night Fury: when Hiccup jumps over to toss the sheep into the net while Toothless flies under in the last race. He flails before landing on Toothless almost just like he does when they practice that technique in GOTNF. Kinda makes me wonder if maybe even then Hiccup was thinking about races?? |
