Would this be something you would like to see?

We all know that Hiccup is human, and in that day the life span isn't even close to what it is today; usually 30 years max. But being sci fi, vikings can live longer; maybe about as long as we can. I thought of something after seeing the film for a second time, and I wondered... how would fans react if something like this happened?

First, let me say that while humans live up to a 120 years max, dragons can live for hundreds of years, probably a lot longer actually.

So when they disappear, since sources on wikipedia have said they might do "spin offs" they will likely disappear in some way that they can return at some point.

Now, after the third movie ends, or fourth if they split it in two, and the dragons are gone.. Would you be okay if they did some sort of spin off like this? That the dragons disappear, but are not dead.. and one day..

A great, great grandchild of Hiccup in a more modern world finds a dragon, which turns out to be Toothless. Perhaps finding evidence of his/her ancestors, and discovering the world of dragons that once existed.

My thinking on this is basically this.

My grandparents, age 94 and 91, lived pretty much like vikings do as kids. Really. Ask your grandparents if they are around that age. Ask how their parents lived. My grandparents didn't have electricity, toilets or running water, or even toilet paper. No, toilet paper was for people who had money in those days. They had to chop trees to fuel fires and make their stoves work. So every winter they would chop trees just to keep warm, hunt for food and raise cattle and sheep for food.

Sound familiar? And that was less then 100 years ago.

Imagine if the story followed one hundred years later...

The grandchild would be either a grand child or a great grandchild, if set in a modern time like today. Imagine what would happen if the spin offs had how to train your dragon, with dragons returning.. in a modern world.

This is my own idea, I don't have any facts to back this; this is purely what I imagine and would like to see if they do a spin off.

Now I'd like to hear if you like this idea, and further more what YOUR ideas would be if they did a spin off.

And why would that help? Toothless is not cool enough to be a Bewilderbeast and dragons can live for thousands of years so no need for that.

O.O

Somebody calling Toothless not cool? Hmm.. Well I just made that comment because I heard the books turned him into a bewilderbeast. If you think about it, he has some traits that might make him become one. The ear flaps, if he were to grow more of those over time and grow larger he would look like a bewilderbeast. Plus it'd just be cool. But please, don't hate on me; you have your opinions and ideas, I have mine. Enjoy your day! Much thanks! =)

Ah but what if its not set on the island of berk?

Dragons do fly, and whats not to say they meet in some other land?

Granted, Berk would be the place Toothless would likely return to, but according to HTTYD 2 Hiccup and Toothless explored a lot of the world together. Any one of those places Toothless might go searching to find Hiccup, not knowing he is dead. In my opinion, the family might be on vacation or something.

And.. how do we know one of the places Toothless flew to isn't like a modern day Hawaii? XD

Food for thought.

ok ok sorry

My idea was to few years ago the dragons leave of berk the grandson hiccup find toothless when then took up the toothless to hiccup would recognize and so the dragons return to berk.
This is my idea. But I don't know your ideas but I hope i will enjoy your ideas.
